NBA

Pistons at 76ers

Detroit has lost 4 in a row as they head to Philadelphia where the Sixers are 28-2 on the season. They are playing without Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons but even so, they’ve done well at home without them. Philly returns home after a 1-4 toad trip and play a Pistons team that is still without their leading scorer in Derek Rose. But without their big two I think this line is too much for the Sixers. They still get the win but they don’t cover. I’ll bet the Pistons.

Knicks at Hawks

The Knicks played last night and lost to the Bullets and now turn around to play a Hawks team that was lucky to escape with a win against the Hornets on Monday. Atlanta has rarely been a favorite this season but is only 3-4-2 in that situation. John Collins is listed as probable tonight. The money is coming in hard on Atlanta and the line is getting better for them. I just think this is a closer game than the line shows. I’ll lean New York.

Hornets at Heat

The Heat went 1-1 on their little road trip and now return home where they are 27-4 straight up and 20-11 ATS. They are hosting a dangerous Hornets team that is 7-2-1 ATS over their last 10. Jimmy Butler is listed as questionable for tonight’s game and Charlotte is still dealing with Malik Monk’s suspension. I think Charlotte is playing above their heads and this is a Miami play but Butler’s availability is enough to keep this as a lean on Miami.

Jazz at Thunder

Utah’s winning streak was stopped on Monday with a home loss to the Raptors. They are back on the road to play the Thunder today. The Jazz were quite successful on their last road trip but are playing a Thunder team that is 20-13 at home. OKC has won 3 in a row and return after a successful road trip from the East. This is a close one for me. I’ll lean the Jazz here.

Nuggets at Mavs

The Mavs took a bad loss in San Antonio last night and now head back home to host a Nuggets team that beat a Giannis-less Bucks team on Monday. Both teams are only 5-5 over their last 10. The Nuggets are better on the road than Dallas is at home but I like Dallas to show up tonight. I hate that it’s a back to back but Luka tends to show up big after a loss like last night. I’ll bet Dallas.

Pelicans at Kings

The Kings are coming off a loss but are 7-3 over their last 10 and have wedged themselves into the playoff conversation along with the Pelicans and 3 other teams. New Orleans has won 2 in a row and have improved their road record to 15-17. Both teams have been off since Saturday and aren’t dealing with any significant injuries other than the Bagley injury for Sacramento. The money is hard on New Orleans and line has gotten better for them. I’ll lean the Kings here.

NHL

Sharks at Blackhawks

The Sharks have lost 3 in a row and head to Chicago where the Blackhawks have lost 2 straight. Chicago is a big favorite here and the line has gotten a lot worse for them despite money and public being about 50/50. The Blackhawks have a winning record at home and should get this one but too chalky for me. I’ll lean Chicago.

Jets at Oilers

I hit on the Jets on Monday and still feel dirty from that. But they have won 4 of 5 and play an Edmonton team that has lost some close games recently. The Oilers are 20-14-3 at home this season and Winnipeg is just a decent road team. I’ll lean Edmonton here.

Rangers at Avalanche

The Rangers got the win yesterday in Dallas and now head to Colorado to play an Avalanche team that has lost 3 of 4. Two of those losses were on the road where they are actually better record wise. Their home record is pretty good but the Rangers are another team that thrives on the road. I can see Colorado getting the win tonight but I like the value in New York. I’ll lean the Rangers.

Blues at Ducks

The Blues lost on Monday to the Panthers and it was a rare home loss. They hit the road to Anaheim today to resume a game from February 11th that was postponed after a Blues player had a heart attack on the bench. I don’t have any lines on this or data but I’ll lean St. Louis.

Senators at Kings

The Kings have won 6 in a row after beating the Avalanche on Monday. They find themselves as big home favorites over the Senators today. Ottawa is 4-5-1 over the last 10 and has a dreadful 7-20-6 record on the road this season. Betting a team -162 that is sub .500 and has a goal differential of -35 on the season is not a smart move. But it’s the move I’m making today. Betting LA.

Max’s Notes

NBA

Celtics at Pacers

The Celtics have been in a bit of a slump lately and it’s a lot to do with injuries. They are healthy today but playing a hot Pacers team at home where they are 21-10. I still like Boston to bounce back today and get a much needed and big win. But only in a lean.

Knicks at Wizards

The Knicks have won 3 of 5 but hit the road where they are 9-22. The Bullets aren’t lighting the world on fire lately but they should get the win. But I’ll lean New York with the points.

Cavs at Bulls

The Cavs have won 2 in a row but start a 6 game road trip today. They head to Chicago to play a slumping Bulls team who is still without their star player in Zach LaVine. I don’t have faith in the Bulls to win by much or win at all. I’ll lean Cleveland.

Timberwolves at Rockets

The Rockets have been the Missiles lately as they have lost 4 in a row. 3 of those losses were to sub .500 teams so apologies if I say this one is a gimme. The T-Wolves have been smoked lately but the Rockets don’t seem to do well with these big lines. I’ll lean Minnesota.

Magic at Grizzlies

Orlando bounced back from a 3 game losing streak by winning 2 in a row. They continue their road trip tonight in Memphis against a Grizzlies team that has won 4 of 5 and is 18-14 at home this season. I think the road weariness will set in today for Orlando and Memphis gets the win. It’s tight but not much I like today so I’ll bet the Grizzlies.

Mavs at Spurs

Luka is questionable tonight so this makes the line pretty spot on. The Spurs are again without LaMarcus Aldridge and they’ve been playing sub .500 basketball without him. They’ve been playing sub .500 basketball with him too. I’ll lean Dallas here.

Suns at Blazers

The Blazers have lost 2 in a row and welcome a Suns team that has won 2 in a row. Deandre Ayton is still questionable for Phoenix but Portland has not been a surefire bet at home this season – as shown by their recent loss to the Kings on Saturday. I’ll lean the Suns.

Clippers at Warriors

Steph Curry is questionable for today and that could be the difference here. Without him, I kind of like the Clippers – especially motivated after that loss to the Lakers. But if Curry does play then it’s a little closer. I’ll lean the Clippers.

Nets at Lakers

Brooklyn has won 2 in a row but the teams they have beaten aren’t exactly the best in the league. They play the best team in the league as they head to LA to play LeBron and the Lakers who are winners of 4 in a row and 9 of 10. The money has come in hard on Brooklyn to shift this line down. LeBron is listed as questionable today and that’s a scary thought when considering eating this much chalk. But I’m eating it anyway. I’m betting LA.

NHL

Bruins at Flyers

Big test for the Flyers. Both teams playing very well – despite Boston losing to Tampa on Saturday. Money is coming hard on Philly here. I like them too but only in a lean.

Islanders at Canucks

Both teams have been struggling lately and for the Islanders, it might cost them a playoff spot. The Canucks had an upset home loss to the awful Blue Jackets on Sunday but they are 21-9-4 at home this season while New York has slipped to only 15-14-3 on the road. I’ll bet Vancouver here.

Hurricanes at Red Wings

The Red Wings have won 2 in a row and had a big upset win over the Lightning on Sunday. As a big dog today I’m not buying them. Carolina is starting to turn things around and are pretty solid on the road.

Rangers at Stars

Both teams are slumping but the Rangers have had a brutal schedule lately. The money is on them and line getting better so it’s trappish. Dallas is pretty good at home but it’s too chalky for me. I’m off this one.

Lightning at Maple Leafs

Tampa will look to recover from a blip on Sunday and face a Maple Leafs team that has lost 3 in a row. Toronto is 17-9-7 at home but I think Tampa comes in and wins this one. I’ll bet Tampa.

NBA and NHL Bets! March 9th Degeneracy

Max’s Notes

NBA

Hornets at Hawks

The Hornets have been playing pretty good basketball lately. It’s a testament to good coaching and unselfish basketball. I’m a fan of Terry Rozier from his time with Boston and the Hornets are outplaying teams with much more talent than them. Such as the Rockets team they beat on Saturday. They play another team with more talent today. But the Hawks have not looked good over their last 3 and have not played to their abilities for most of the season. I’m going to bet Charlotte here before this line gets any worse for them.

Bucks at Nuggets

The Bucks are coming off a loss to the Suns and are dealing with no Giannis once again. Heading to Denver where the Nuggets are 24-8 is not ideal for the Bucks in a back to back. Denver lost a close one in Cleveland on Saturday and are just 5-5 over their last 10. The Bucks have showed resilience whenever Giannis is out this season and maybe they don’t get the win today but I think they can keep it close. I’ll lean Milwaukee.

Raptors at Jazz

The Raptors have had a very successful road trip so far. They dropped their first game at Denver but have won 3 straight. But now on game 5, it’s bound to catch up with them. Overall, they have been successful on the road this season posting a 22-9 record. The Jazz have been a solid home team but have stumbled a bit lately at home. The are also coming off a great road trip where they won 4 in a row to extend their win streak to 5. I’m always worried about the backend of a road trip and VanFleet being doubtful is not great, but I’m liking the Raptors here today. I’ll bet Toronto.

NHL

Capitals at Sabres

Buffalo has lost 6 in a row and have plummeted to irrelevance in the East. The Caps got a big win over the Penguins on Saturday and hope to build some momentum. Washington is 23-10-2 on the road this season and I like them here today. It’s at the cusp of my chalk threshold but I’ll bet the Capitals.

Coyotes at Jets

The Jets have won 2 in a row and are 6-3-1 in their last 10 – possibly just to spite me. Arizona has won 3 of 5 but continues to be a mediocre team and not the very good team we saw a few months back. I can’t believe I’m going to do this but I’ll bet the Jets.

Max’s Notes

XFL

Dragons at Roughnecks

Houston is 4-0 after a win at Dallas last week. Seattle lost for the 3rd time last week against the Battlehawks but kept it to within a touchdown. The Roughnecks have the best offense in the league but haven’t blown anyone out since week 1.

Pick: I’ll bet Seattle with the points.

O/U: I like to be over here. Houston will put up over 30 points here and they haven’t been sensational at defense so I expect this to hit over 50.

Guardians at Renegades

Most teams are 2-2 four games in and here’s a pair of them. The Guardians got a surprise win over LA last week while Dallas ran into the wall that is Houston. Landry Jones will be missing in this game which means Dallas will need to run the ball much more this week. The Guardians are not able to stop the run so it could actually be a good thing for Dallas here.

Pick: Ultimately, I think Dallas has enough to win and cover here. I’ll take the Renegades.

O/U: The Guardians can’t pass and the Renegades will be running a lot. I’ll take the under here.

Battlehawks at Defenders

DC is coming off a blowout, shutout loss last week and have lost two in a row. But they were both road games and the Defenders are 2-0 at home this season. St. Louis is riding a 2 game winning streak and is the second best team in the XFL. Hope teams have done well so far but this is a team that can get it done on the road. They play defense and they run. It’s not what the XFL wants but it wins games.

Pick: I’ll bet St. Louis

O/U: Two defensive teams that should keep this a low scoring game. I’ll take the under here.

Vipers at Wildcats

Tampa Bay got their first win last week and showed the potential offense that experts thought they would have before the season. LA is coming off a shocking loss to New York last week. This is a tough one here. I like LA at home but if the Vipers start clicking now it could be a turning point to get this road win. Or close road loss.

Pick: I’ll bet Tampa.

O/U: Another under play for me.

NBA

Jazz at Pistons

The Jazz got a big win yesterday and now have to leave Boston and head to Detroit for a matchup with the Pistons. Detroit has managed to keep it close in a lot of their losses. Utah has won 4 in a row and it should be 5 but I like Pistons here getting these points. I’ll bet Detroit.

Hawks at Grizzlies

Both teams played and lost last night. The Grizzlies got smoked last night by Dallas but return home to play an Atlanta team that they beat on Monday by 39 points. Trae Young is listed as questionable and even if he plays I like Memphis to bounce back, win and cover. I’ll bet the Grizzlies.

Leans

Hornets

Cavs

Warriors

Kings

NHL

Hurricanes at Islanders

Both teams on bad losing streaks. Very trappish line here. All of the money on the Islanders and line is getting better. I’d avoid this one.

Predators at Stars

Dallas is on a four game losing streak including their last loss to the Predators in Nashville on Thursday. But Dallas is 19-10-3 at home this season and are too good of a team to continue their slump. The Dallas offense has struggled all year and they have depended on solid goalkeeping and defense and I think we will see that tonight in a low scoring affair. I’ll bet the Stars.

Blue Jackets at Oilers

Columbus is 2-4-4 in their last 10 games and while Edmonton hasn’t been lights out lately, they have won 3 of 5 and return home where they are 16-10-5. The Blue Jackets are dealing with a slew of injuries and their goal differential has taken a big hit lately. I’ll bet Edmonton.

NBA and NHL Bets! March 6th Degeneracy

Max’s Notes:

NBA

Jazz at Celtics

Gordon Hayward will not get to play the Jazz this go around and neither will Jaylan Brown. But Kemba is back and will join Jason Tatum as the Celtics host Utah tonight. The Jazz have won 3 in a row – including their last two on the road. Boston is coming off a win at Cleveland and return home where they have lost their last two. Boston is 23-7 at home but the Jazz are good on the road. Boston got the better of them last time they played and I think they do it again. I’ll bet the Celtics.

Hawks at Wizards

Both teams are coming off blowout losses and neither is surprising. Atlanta has looked great this season and then also looks like a bottom dweller. The same could be said for Washington. 64% of Washington’s wins have come at home this season and they are near .500 there. The Hawks have been downright dreadful on the road – and are 2-8 over their last 10 road games. I’m going to bet the Bullets.

Spurs at Nets

The Spurs barely won in Charlotte and now head to Brooklyn to take on a Nets team that lost to Memphis by 39 points on Wednesday. LaMarcus Aldridge continues to be out for the Spurs and San Antonio is 11-20 on the road this season. Both teams are 4-6 in their last 10 but I think Brooklyn has a slight edge. I’ll lean the Nets.

Thunder at Knicks

OKC was able to bounce back from a few losses with a win in Detroit in Wednesday and now head to New York to play a Knicks team that despite some drama, haven’t been playing awful lately. They are 5-4-1 ATS over their last 10 games. But the Thunder are a good road team and are fighting for playoff seeding. I’ll lean the Thunder here.

Pacers at Bulls

The Bulls remain without Lavine and Markkanen as they host the Pacers tonight. Indiana is coming off a 19 point loss to the Bucks but prior to that, they had been on a nice winning streak. The Pacers have a lot of injury questions with Oladipo listed as questionable, Brogdon listed as doubtful and 3 other players listed as questionable. Indiana is only 16-15 on the road this season. I like the Pacers to get this one on the road. I’ll lean Indiana.

Magic at Timberwolves

Orlando has lost 3 in a row as they head to Minnesota to play a Timberwolves team that has somehow managed to win 2 in a row. They haven’t won 3 in a row since the first 3 games of the season. The Magic had been playing really well before this recent skid and their last win was a double digit one over the Timberwolves. They should win this game and cover but I don’t trust them. I’ll lean the Magic.

Heat at Pelicans

The Heat have not been very good on the road this season but a short handed Sixers team showed last night that road records are only a figure of speech. Jimmy Butler and crew take their 4 game winning streak to New Orleans tonight to play Zion and the Pelicans. New Orleans has lost 3 in a row and haven’t been stellar at home this season. I think Miami gets it right tonight so I’ll lean the Heat.

Grizzlies at Mavs

Memphis has held their opponents to an average of 85 points per game over their last 3. If they can maintain this type of defensive intensity, they will be a nightmare matchup in the playoffs. They will get tested tonight against Luka, Porzingis and the Mavs. Dallas got an OT win over the other rookie phenom on Wednesday that improved their home record to 17-14 on the season. But I like how Memphis is playing ball right now and will lean them here.

Blazers at Suns

The Blazers have won 2 in a row and with a healthy Damian Lillard back, they are hopeful to make a playoff run. But they can’t afford to lose many more. Thankfully for them they get to play a Suns team that has lost 4 in a row. The Blazers are 11-22 on the road and the Suns are 11-22 at home – so nothing to go on there. Really, nothing to go on in this game at all. I’ll lean the Suns.

Bucks at Lakers

Here is the matchup of the night and a possible NBA finals preview. Milwaukee is fresh off their dismantling of the Pacers and head to LA where the Lakers are coming off their dismantling of the Sixers. Looks like this has shifted to make the Lakers home dogs. With that, I’ll lean them.

NHL

Blues at Devils

The Blues have won 8 in a row and should make it 9 today. Too chalky for me so I’ll lean St. Louis.

Blackhawks at Red Wings

The Blackhawks have won 4 straight after last night’s win over the Oilers. That should be 5 in a row after beating the lowly Red Wings. I can’t believe I’m doing this – especially on a back to back – but I’ll bet the Blackhawks.

Golden Jackets at Jets

The Golden Jackets are 9-1 over their last 10 and the Jets are the Jets. This is a game where the chalk is just right and I’ll take it. I’ll bet Vegas.

NBA and NHL Bets! March 5th Degeneracy

Max’s Notes:

NBA

Nuggets at Hornets

Denver will try to shake off their loss against the Warriors as they hit the road to Charlotte to play the Hornets. Charlotte has lost two in a row but continues to be competitive. They will be without Devonte’ Graham who is listed as questionable with an ankle injury. Denver is 17-12 straight up and 14-14-1 ATS on the road this season. I think they cover this one tonight. I’ll bet Denver.

Clippers at Rockets

The Clippers have won 5 in a row and they head to Houston where the Rockets look to forget their Missile performance against the Knicks on Monday. Houston is a good home team – posting a 21-8 record. But the Clippers have been better on the road lately and find themselves as a dog for only the 9th time this season. I think they win outright here but I’ll take the point if it’s there. Betting LA.

76ers at Kings

The Sixers are missing their two best players and are in the middle of a 4 game California road trip. They have lost the first two to the LA teams and after the Kings today they head to San Francisco to play the Steph Curry-led Warriors on Sunday. Philly is 9-23 on the road and face a Kings team that has won 7 of 10. I’ve been cashing in with fools gold lately and the books keep accepting it.  Just seems a bit too much today. I’ll lean Sacramento.

Raptors at Warriors

It’s finally the return of Steph Curry. And I bet that Draymond Green’s sore knee is better in time for tip-off. Which makes betting this game a bit tougher. Without Curry, this is a double digit win by the Raptors. But until we can see what Steph brings to the table today, I can only lean the Raptors.

NHL

Penguins at Sabres

Pittsburgh broke their losing streak on Tuesday and now head to Buffalo to play a Sabres team that has lost 4 in a row. For as good as the Penguins are, they are only 15-15-2 on the road. For the season, Buffalo has been solid at home but that’s not been a guarantee lately. The money is hard on the Sabres and I tend to agree it’s a nice value play. I’ll bet Buffalo.

Canadiens at Lightning

Montreal has won 2 in a row and continue to play better on the road than at home. The problem is that they head to Tampa where the Lightning are 21-10-2. Tampa is coming off a home loss to the Bruins on Tuesday and hard to imagine them losing two in a row at home but that happened just last week. So crazier things can happen here. Money and public are on Tampa and line is getting better. I’m leaning Montreal here as another value play.

Bruins at Panthers

The Bruins have won 3 in a row and the Panthers have lost 3 in a row. They meet up in Florida tonight where the Panthers are 16-14-3 this season. The Bruins are a fairly good road team and the chalk here isn’t too much to take. I’ll bet Boston to get this one.

Capitals at Rangers

The Capitals are coming off that loss to the Flyers yesterday and now face a Rangers team that has lost 3 in a row and just lost Chris Kreider for several weeks. The Rangers still have hope of getting into the playoffs but need to pick up wins. The Capitals are trying to hold off Philly as the top seed from the Metropolitan division and look to improve their already stellar 22-10-1 away record. I’ll lean the Rangers here.

Hurricanes at Flyers

Carolina has lost 3 in a row and their playoff hopes are slipping. So they definitely don’t want to be facing the red hot Flyers here. I know Philly is playing in a back to back but it’s hard to bet against them. They have won 7 in a row and have a +12 goal differential over their last 5. Philly is 23-5-4 at home and they add another tonight. I’ll bet the Flyers.

Islanders at Senators

The Islanders have lost 4 in a row and while their offense has been problematic all season, now their defense is faltering too. That strong defense is what has kept them in the playoff picture and if they don’t turn things around they might find themselves on the outside look in. And as bad as Ottawa has been this year they are a pretty good home team. The sharps seem to be on the Senators and I don’t hate that play. I’ll lean Ottawa.

Stars at Predators

Both teams have lost 3 in a row and for Dallas, it’s dropped them in playoff seeding. The Stars have been pretty good on the road this season and Nashville is definitely beatable there. The money and public are on the Stars and line has gotten better for them. I’ll lean the Predators here.

Oilers at Blackhawks

Two teams that have won 3 in a row and for the Blackhawks, they have managed to get above .500 at home and on the road in that stretch. Edmonton continues their road trip and find themselves as dogs in this one. Something seems off here with all of the money on Edmonton. I’d avoid this one completely.

Maple Leafs at Kings

After winning 3 straight the Kings are ready for their playoff push. Well, not quite. They still have the second worst record in the league. But their improved play – including wins over Pittsburgh and Vegas – has to worry Toronto a bit. The Maple Leafs are more than likely guaranteed a playoff spot but still can not afford to lose many more games just in case Florida gets on a hot streak and sneaks in over them. They should get it done today but I would not be shocked if LA won. I’ll lean Toronto.

Wild at Sharks

Minnesota is wedged in with 4 other teams in the West who are vying for the two wild card spots. They have played very well lately and have been a team that I like betting on when the value is there. Not seeing the value today. San Jose has won 3 in a row and have a winning home record. The Wild have been iffy away from Minnesota. I’ll only lean the Wild here.

NBA and NHL Bets! March 4th Degeneracy

Max’s Notes:

NBA

Celtics at Cavs

The Celtics are coming off a meltdown of a loss that saw them blow a lead and lose in OT after Caris Lavert torched them for 51 last night. Marcus Smart also fouled out and went after a referee. Now they have to turn around and head to Cleveland to play the Cavs. The Cavs lost 3 in a row including consecutive home games but face a Boston team who will be without Kemba and possibly missing all of their starters. I’ll lean Boston here. Too many question marks.

Thunder at Pistons

OKC lost at home last night but double digits. It’s their second double digit loss on a row. Now they head to Detroit in their back to back to play a Pistons team that has only 2 wins in their last 10. And they will be without leading scorer Derek Rose. OKC is 17-12 on the road and should bounce back for a win. I just think this line is a bit close. I’ll lean the Thunder.

Pacers at Bucks

The Bucks look to shake off that big loss against Miami and head home to host a Pacers team that has won 4 straight. Oladipo is questionable tonight and the Bucks will be without Korver again. Milwaukee is 27-3 at home but the Pacers are a decent road team. I’ll only lean Milwaukee here.

Magic at Heat

The Heat showed up against the Bucks and now host another home game with their instate cohorts in town. Orlando has lost 2 in a row after it looked like they were turning a corner for a playoff run. Miami has now won 3 straight after looking pretty mediocre for a few weeks. The Heat are 26-4 at home and Orlando is only 11-19 on the road. Another line that looks spot on. I’ll lean the Heat here.

Grizzlies at Nets

The Nets got that big win last night over the Celtics but have no time to rest as Ja Morant and the Grizzlies are in town. Memphis’ defense has looked great in their last 2 wins and they hope to take advantage of a weary Nets team. The Grizzlies are sub .500 on the road but I think they can get the straight up win today. I’ll still take points and bet Memphis.

Jazz at Knicks

The Knicks are still dealing with the blowback of the Spike Lee incident. For those of you who don’t know who he is, he directed BlacKkKlansman in 2018 in which he was nominated for best director and best picture while winning best adapted screenplay. Oh yeah, he also had crucially acclaimed Chi-Raq in 2015, Inside Man in 2006 and 25th Hour in 2002 – showing his relevance over the last 20 years. Anyway, looks like he won’t be court-side tonight for the Knicks as he’s done going to games this year. New York got that surprise win over the Rockets on Monday and now have won 2 in a row. The Jazz have also won 2 in a row to recover from a losing streak they were mired in. The Jazz are decent on the road and should get the win, but I’ll lean New York here with the points.

Bulls at Timberwolves

Two teams that have mastered ineptitude this season. They join the Sixers as teams spurned by Jimmy Butler and now they face off in what will surely be an epic matchup of who can score the least points. The Bulls are playing without Lavine and Markkanen but still got a win on Monday against Dallas. The Timberwolves got a big win last night over the Pelicans and see if they can go for two in a row. They have only done that 4 times this season and haven’t done so in 2 months. I’ll lean the Bulls here.

Pelicans at Mavs

Both teams will be trying to shake off losses to sub .500 teams with both teams playing their third game in 4 nights. The Mavs get the luxury of being home after being on a 4 game road trip but that’s not necessarily a good thing. Dallas is only 16-14 straight up and 12-17-1 against the spread at home this year. Zion is listed as probable but be interesting to see if he gets rest on the second night of a back to back. I like Luka and the Mavs to show up tonight so I’ll bet Dallas here.

Wizards at Blazers

Damian Lillard has been upgraded to probable and should play tonight as the Blazers host the Bullets. Portland got a win in Orlando on Monday to cap a 3 game road trip and return home where they are 16-13. That drops to 11-17-1 ATS. They are playing a Bullets team that is 8-23 on the road but 14-15-2 ATS. I like them here getting the points and will bet Washington.

NHL

Flyers at Capitals

The Flyers have won 6 straight and are jumping up in the playoff seeding in the East. They are only 3 points behind the Capitals who have cooled off a bit lately. They are coming off a win on Sunday in Minnesota. Washington is home where they are 18-9-5. Probably soon to see on good news with Philly but as a plus line here I love them as a value play. I’ll bet the Flyers.

Blue Jackets at Flames

Columbus got a win on Sunday but they have not looked right for a few weeks. They head to Calgary where the Flames are beatable. They are only 14-12-2 at home this season. Calgary has played decently lately though and should get the win. Just way too chalky. I’ll lean the Flames.

Ducks at Avalanche

Colorado has won 7 in a row and doesn’t look like it will stop there. The Ducks have lost 2 in a row and are 12-18-4 on the road. I was tempted to bet this at Colorado-286. Throw them into a parlay for a quick check mark.

Coyotes at Canucks

Vancouver has lost 3 in a row but all were on the road. They are 20-7-4 at home and welcome a Coyotes team that was destined for the playoffs a few months back but have faded badly. The line looks a bit trappy but I’ll still take Vancouver. Betting the Canucks

NBA and NHL Bets! March 3rd Degeneracy

The T-Shirt contest is off and running. Send us your ideas! We’re creatively and morally bankrupt!

Max’s Notes:

NBA

Nets at Celtics

Kemba Walker is expected to be back tonight but Jason Tatum and Marcus Smart are listed as questionable. Boston is coming off that close OT loss to the Rockets and welcome in a Nets team that has lost 4 straight. Most of those losses were close ones and the last 3 have been on the road. The injuries worry me a bit but I’ll still do it. Betting Boston.

Spurs at Hornets

The Hornets have been a surprise lately. They beat the Raptors and kept it fairly close with Milwaukee. They will host a Spurs team that has lost 7 of 10 games including a 5 point home loss to Indiana last night. LaMarcus Aldridge has been upgraded from Out to Doubtful but that isn’t a positive sign for a team that is 10-20 on the road. The line is fairly spot on here so I’ll lean the Hornets with a few points.

Timberwolves at Pelicans

New Orleans has played very well lately as long as they don’t have to play the Lakers. And they don’t. In fact they play host to a Timberwolves team that started a new losing streak by suffering consecutive double digit losses. Minnesota is 10-20 on the road and I can see them losing by double digits again. But this is too chalky for me. I just can’t trust New Orleans with these big lines. I’ll lean the Timberwolves.

Clippers at Thunder

Here is a pair of teams linked by an offseason trade that set their futures into motion. And honestly, it’s been better trade for OKC as health has limited Paul George this season. The Clippers have won 4 in a row while OKC is coming off a blowout loss at the hands of the Bucks. OKC is 20-12 at home this season and the Clippers have not been a dominant road team. The money is coming in hard for LA and the line is getting worse for them. I like OKC a lot and this should be a close one but the Clippers look healthy and clicking lately. I’ll lean LAC.

Warriors at Nuggets

Denver knocked out the Raptors on Sunday and now get a chance to beat the other NBA finalist team from last season. This should be an easier task as the Warriors have only won 13 games this season only 6 of which were on the road. The Nuggets are 24-7 at home this year but that drops to 15-14-2 ATS. Denver is still dealing with a few injuries but that seems petty to say when compared to the Warriors. The Warriors keep getting blown out and I can see it happening tonight but Denver’s ability to cover big lines is iffy. I’ll lean Denver.

Raptors at Suns

Toronto has lost 3 in a row and that’s been in part to some nagging injuries to Gasol, VanFleet and Ibaka. They head to Phoenix where the Suns have also lost 3 in a row and don’t have injuries to blame. The Suns are 11-21 at home this year and the Raptors are a good road team. So I see Toronto bouncing back for a win. The line is just a tad too close for me. I’ll lean the Raptors.

76ers at Lakers

The 76ers lost another road game on Sunday but kept it close with the Clippers. They play the other LA team tonight and once again do so without Simmons and Embiid. The Lakers are coming off an inconsistent weekend as they suffered a big loss to Ja Morant and the Grizzlies but then turned around and beat Zion and the Pelicans. The Sixers are 9-22 – meaning even if they win the remainder of their road games, they will have a sub .500 road record on the year. That said, this scrappy Sixers team kept it close to LAC and I think they can keep it to within 10 of LAL. I’ll bet Philadelphia.

Wizards at Kings

Fools gold won another on Sunday and are now 7-3 in their last 10. They welcome in a Bullets team that beat Golden State on Sunday and still have hopes of snagging a playoff spot on the East. They are 4 games back of a fading Brooklyn team and so shockingly, Washington without John Wall could make the playoffs in that shithole of an Eastern Conference. Sacramento is only 3.5 games back in the West as 5 or maybe 6 teams vie for that last spot. I think the Kings get a step closer tonight. I’ll bet Sacramento and trust the fools gold.

NHL

Devils at Golden Knights

Vegas finally lost a game – a shocking loss to the Kings on Sunday. But now they get a chance to start a new win streak as the Devils are in town.  New Jersey got a shutout win on Sunday just to spite me for fading them. Some sharp money coming in on New Jersey and line is getting better for them. I’d avoid this one.

Blues at Rangers

I’ve whiffed on the Rangers and that home plus line looks tempting. But the Blues have won 7 in a row and it’s hard to bet against them right now. They’ve had some closer wins which makes me really tempted here to fade them. The money is split here too. Jeez, tough one. Screw it. I’ll go chasing waterfalls here. Betting the Rangers.

Senators at Penguins

Pittsburgh is mired in a terrible slump but return home after a 4 game toad trip. The Penguins are 22-6-4 at home and should bounce back. The Senators got a pair of wins this week but both were at home. They only have 6 road wins all year. I’ll lean the Penguins here.

Predators at Wild

I think Edmonton is still scoring goals on Nashville right now. And now the Predators have to turn around and head to Minnesota to play a Wild team that is 18-11-5 at home. Minnesota has a close home loss on Sunday to the Capitals but should bounce back here. I’ll bet the Wild.

NBA and NHL Bets! March 2nd Degeneracy

NBA

Jazz at Cavs

The Jazz broke their losing streak on Friday – something they needed as they hit the road now. Donovan Mitchell has been playing very well lately but the team has struggled as a cohesive unit. They head to Cleveland today to face a Cavs team that has lost two in a row after winning two games against playoff bound teams. Utah is 16-13 straight up and 15-14 against the spread on the road this season. All of the money is on Utah and line is moving the right way. This line is pretty spot on to me so I’ll just lean the Jazz.

Rockets at Knicks

The Knicks got a win over the Bulls but now welcome a Rockets team that is fresh off a win over the Celtics. Houston has won 6 in a row and 8 of their last 10. The Rockets are 18-12 straight up on the road but that drops to 14-15-1 ATS. It does seem that the Westbrook and Harden combination is working right now. But it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out in the playoffs. The Rockets are 6-3-1 ATS over their last 10 and beat the Knicks by 10 last week. But this is a tad too many points for my liking. I’ll lean the Knicks.

Blazers at Magic

Portland has lost 3 in a row and 7 of their last 10. They head to Orlando where Vucevic and crew won on Friday night. But then they traveled to San Antonio on Saturday and returned back home to play their third game in four nights. The Magic are 16-14 at home and the Blazers are 10-22 on the road. I think Orlando gets the win but I can’t trust them to cover. I’ll lean the Blazers.

Grizzlies at Hawks

Atlanta has won two in a row – both by double digits. They welcome Ja Morant and crew into town tonight, fresh off their win over the Lakers. But the Grizzlies are only 12-17 on the road this season. The money is on Memphis but the line is getting better for them. Traps don’t mean much in the NBA and I think Memphis has a chance to win this one. Maybe Atlanta is on the verge of showing us what they can do with Trae and Collins healthy but I’ll still bet the Grizzlies.

Bucks at Heat

This will be a big test tonight. Not for the Bucks who are completely unstoppable right now, have won 6 in a row and are 25-5 on the road. The Heat will be the ones tested tonight as they put their 25-4 home record on the line tonight. Miami has won 2 in a row – both at home but Minnesota showed they can be beat at home. And Milwaukee will do the same tonight. I’ll bet the Bucks.

Mavs at Bulls

Well, I’ve put way too mud stock in the Bulls lately and that’s been a mistake. After shitting the bed against the Knicks in New York they head back home to host the Mavs. Dallas got a 20 point win yesterday without Luka and will need to play without him again today. And possibly Porzingis too. In fact, the injury report in this game for both teams is too many to list here. The Mavs are a damn good road team but there is so much uncertainty here. I’ll still lean the Mavs.

Pacers at Spurs

LaMarcus Aldridge remains out for the Spurs as they host a Pacers team that has won 3 in a row and 4 of 5 since coming back from the All Star break. Indiana hasn’t been tested that much in that span and the only winning team they faced beat them by 46. But the Spurs aren’t a team to be afraid of. They used to be unbeatable at home but are just 15-13 this season. I’ll lean the Pacers.

NHL

Avalanche at Red Wings

Colorado got a nice win on the road on Saturday – their 6th win in a row. Detroit has lost 5 in a row and are 1-8-1 in their last 10. So the question of course is if there’s any value with the Red Wings. I say no. Toss the Avalanche into your parlays and check one of those off the list.

Oilers at Predators

These are two teams that are closer than you’d expect. Everyone is high up on the Oilers but Nashville has been a pretty decent team all season. Despite that close loss to the Avalanche on Saturday, they have played very good hockey lately whereas Edmonton has dropped off a bit. The Oilers are a solid team on the road – posting an 18-13-3 record. And the money is on them today. But I’m fading the money and following the public here and betting the Predators.
