Max’s Notes:

Bucks at Pistons

Milwaukee ended the break with a loss in Indiana and look to kick off the second half with a win over the lowly Pistons. Detroit has lost 4 in a row and while Derek Rose got a lot of fanfare in Chicago last weekend, he now deals with the reality that he’s playing for this Pistons team. Milwaukee is 21-5 straight up and 15-11 against the spread on the road. They will need to win without Kyle Korver today. And they will. Square sucker play alert. I’ll bet the Bucks.

Heat at Hawks

The Heat are looking to make a strong playoff run this year but they need to be a lot better than their 13-16 road record. They ended the break losing 4 of 5 on the road. So call me crazy if I don’t trust them here against the Hawks. Atlanta is on a 2 game losing streak but those were road games. They don’t have a great home record but are better there than on the road. I’ll lean Atlanta here.

Hornets at Bulls

Not much to talk about in this one. Charlotte has won 2 in a row both on the road against sub .500 teams. The Bulls have lost 6 straight. Charlotte is 14-14-1 ATS on the road. The line says bet Bulls but I’m not there. I’ll lean Chicago.

Nets at 76ers

There are few truths in the NBA. One is that the Sixers suck on the road and are great at home. And fortunately for them, they start the second half of season at home. The Nets are still dealing with life without Kyrie but managed to win 4 of 5 before the break. I think the line is spot on. Not sure why it’s getting better with the money on Philly. I’ll lean Brooklyn with the points.

Grizzlies at Kings

Sacramento has been playing okay but dropped their last two before the break. Memphis has looked great lately – winning 8 of their last 10. Memphis is decent on the road and crazy to see them as a road favorite here. The numbers indicate a play on Sacramento but my gut says Grizzlies. I’ll bet Memphis here.

Rockets at Warriors

The Warriors ended the first half as they started it. By losing. Golden State has lost 4 in a row while Houston’s star player was consistently made fun of by Giannis over all star weekend. Let’s see if that motivates him at all. This line is pretty much where I thought it would be and hard to trust this Rockets team to cover double digits – even against a shit team. I’ll lean Houston here but I can’t bet them.

Sharks at Devils

San Jose is a slightly better team than the Devils but not much. That said, they have been playing better than the Devils lately – who seem to be ready for the offseason. Definitely some value in betting the Sharks as a plus line. I’ll take San Jose.

Flyers at Columbus

The Flyers are sensational at home. Not so much on the road. They are 13-15-3 and are 4-6 in their last 10 road games. Columbus is dealing with a 6 game losing streak which is bound to end at some point. The sharps are on the Blue Jackets and that makes me hesitant to bet Philly. I’ll lean the Flyers.

Penguins at Maple Leafs

Toronto has not been stellar lately. Pittsburgh is a pretty good road team and easily handled the Maple Leafs on Tuesday in Pittsburgh. The Malkin injury worries me a bit but getting the Penguins at a plus line here is a good move. I’ll bet the Penguins.

Canadiens at Capitals

Washington has not been playing their best hockey lately. But neither has Montreal who has lost 5 straight. Definitely a winnable game for Washington but too chalky for me.

Jets at Senators

Winnipeg has won 2 in a row but Ottawa has won 3 of 5. The Jets are 15-11-2 on the road but the Senators are surprisingly good at home. The sharps are on Ottawa and I kind of like them too. I’ll lean the Senators.

Coyotes at Blues

The Blues have not been great lately and the Coyotes could have value at this big plus line. But playing in a back to back and with St. Louis being so good at home I cant pull the trigger.

Panthers at Kings

Kings aren’t that bad at home and the Panthers have been struggling. They have won 2 in a row so wouldn’t be mad if someone took Florida them. I’m not though.

Lightning at Golden Knights

The Lightning have won 11 in a row and head to Vegas where the Golden Knights are sporting a 3 game win streak. Vegas has been fairly solid at home this season but Tampa is 20-8-3 on the road. Hard to pass up a good team at home with a plus line but even harder to pass up a great team at only -115. I’ll bet the Lightning.
