Pistons at Cavs Cleveland has lost 4 in a row and didn’t look competitive in 3 of those games. The Pistons look to get a win tonight and try to salvage their road trip as much as possible. Blazers at Raptors The Blazers have 1 win over their last 5 games and continue to be one of the most underperforming teams in the league. They continue their road trip in Toronto tonight and play a Raptors team that is coming off a blowout win over the Nets from a few night ago. The Raptors are dealing with several injuries with Fred VanFleet now listed as questionable for tonight with a hamstring injury. Portland is only 3-13 against teams with winning records and I keep expecting them to come to life sooner or later. Toronto is 14-5 at home but with only Lowry as their main guy. Thunder at Nets The Thunder had their win streak broken last night in Philly and have to turn around and head to Brooklyn to face another streaking team. Of course the Nets are streaking in the wrong direction. After last night’s loss to Orlando, the Nets have lost 6 in a row and Kyrie’s return is still uncertain. The Nets aren’t just losing but losing badly. Four of their losses were double digit losses and they are averaging less than 100 points per game. Timberwolves at Grizzlies Minnesota has won 3 of 4 and their lone loss was a 2 point loss to the mighty Bucks. They seem to feast on sub .500 teams and get another tonight. But the Grizzlies are a dangerous team. They have won 3 of 4 as well with their latest one on Sunday over the Suns. Ja Morant was quiet in that one but 5 other Memphis players scored double digits and they looked like a well balanced offense. This is a coin flip game for me. I like Memphis as home for sure but could see Minnesota keeping it annoyingly close. Kings at Suns These are two teams that we had higher expectations for. The Kings have yet to build on last season’s success and Phoenix has dealt with suspensions and injuries. I still think one or both teams can turn things around but need to do it fast. For Phoenix, I think now that most players are healthy, it’s about finding the best rotation and maybe looking back at the early season success to see what went right there. I like them to get the win today but that’s too many points. And I can’t trust Sacramento either – despite the sharp money coming in on them. Knicks at Lakers The Lakers have won 5 in a row and may as well make that 6. With the Knicks coming to town the question will be can they cover this large spread. Recently, no. They haven’t been able to as they are 2-7-1 in their last 10 ATS while the Knicks have been a respectable 6-4. New York was able to hang with the Clippers on Sunday and I can see them keeping this to within 10 today. NHL Islanders at Devils Not a ton of data here but seems like money is on NJ right now and the line is shifting as a result. Could be because the Islanders played last night in a tough game with Colorado. The Devils lost on Saturday to Colorado which broke their 3 game winning streak. That streak included a win over the Islanders last Thursday. Flyers at Hurricanes Looks trappish as money coming in on Philly and line getting better for them. Both teams in little slumps right now and I like Carolina to bounce back. Coyotes at Panthers Not a lot of data here. Arizona has won 3 in a row and is a slight plus line on the road against a Florida team that’s been pretty inconsistent. Will be interesting to see where this goes… Canucks at Lightning Public is on the Canucks and the money is on the Lightning and line is getting worse. So not sure what to think here. Both teams on great win streaks so maybe some value in betting Vancouver. Senators at Capitals Damn, wish I liked the Senators a bit more here but they are slumping hard and the Capitals are scoring the last few games. Avalanche at Rangers The Avalanche lost a close one to the Islanders last night but should be ready to get a win over the Rangers today. New York has lost three in a row and granted, those were road losses and they are decent at home…. Penguins at Golden Knights The money is so damn hard on Vegas here. They are playing damn good hockey. The Penguins are a very good team and you might find value in getting them here as a plus line but it’s not enough for me.
