Max’s NBA Bet Picks for 1/30/21

I was 1-3 in my bets yesterday and have been ice cold lately. I started the season strong and went up $300 and am free falling the past week and a half.

Portland (2.5) at Chicago (-2.5)

NBA Bet Picks for 1/30/21

Pick: Bet Chicago

Total: 232 (Lean Over – 235)

Predicted Score: Chicago 119 – Portland 116

Overview:  Both teams will look to break a 2-game losing streak tonight. For the Bulls, they are also trying to shake off some bad play at home. Chicago is only 205 at home and they score 8 points less per game at home than on the road. And the bad news is that their defense is equally bad at home.

The worse news? Portland has played better on the road this season than at home. The Bulls also turn the ball over a lot and Portland doesn’t. Portland also gets more offensive rebounding than Chicago so that could lead to some second chance points

So why am I betting the Bulls today? Good question. For one, I really don’t like much today and this was one of the only games that didn’t feature teams that played yesterday. The Bulls have had some good rest lately and should be ready to go.

Also, Chicago’s effective field goal % is pretty damn good – despite being worse at home – this is a team that gets some good shots and put up points against a subpar defense like Portland.

So yeah, I’ll bet $20 on the Bulls and donate to my NBA bleeding out fund.

Milwaukee (-7) at Charlotte (7)

Pick: Lean Milwaukee

Total: 228 (Lean Under – 224)

Predicted Score: Milwaukee 116 – Charlotte 108

Notes: No injuries to report for either team. Bucks lost last night but came back from a big deficit. Charlotte got the win over Indy yesterday.

Houston (-1) at New Orleans (1)

Pick: Lean Houston

Total: 223.5 (Lean Over – 224)

Predicted Score: Houston 114 – New Orleans 110

Notes: New Orleans has won 2 in a row with a win over the Bucks yesterday. Houston has won 4 straight. No injuries to report for either team.

Sacramento (5) at Miami (-5)

Pick: Lean Sacramento

Total: 224.5 (Lean Over – 226)

Predicted Score: Sacramento 116 – Miami 110

Notes: Jimmy Butler is listed as questionable for today’s game. Tyler Herro and Goran Dragic are still banged up. Kings have won 3 in a row and coming off a win over the Raptors last night. Miami has lost 5 in a row and are 4-5 at home. If I didn’t bet the Kings yesterday, I’d probably bet them today.

LA Lakers (-2.5) at Boston (2.5)

Pick: Lean Boston

Total: 219.5 (Lean Over – 221)

Predicted Score: LA Lakers 111 – Boston 110

Notes: LeBron and Anthony Davis are listed as questionable but should play. Boston is overall healthy but Payton Pritchard is still out with an MCL strain. The Lakers have lost 2 in a row and doubt they hit a 3-game skid. Boston lost their last game against the Spurs but are 5-2 at home this year.

Memphis (4) at San Antonio (-4)

Pick: Lean Memphis

Total: 224 (Lean Under – 219)

Predicted Score: Memphis 110 – San Antonio 109

Notes: Derrick White is out for the Spurs and Memphis has 6 players on the injury report – but Ja Morant is not one of them. I think Memphis can pull out the win today and improve their win streak to 6. But I can only lean them for now.

Phoenix (3) at Dallas (-3)

Pick: Lean Phoenix

Total: 217.5 (Lean Over – 218)

Predicted Score: Phoenix 110 – Dallas 108

Notes: Devin Booker is out for the Suns here as Dallas tries to break a 4-game losing streak. Dallas got blown out by the Jazz yesterday. The Suns managed a win over the Warriors 2 days ago but have not been playing great lately either.

Detroit (5.5) at Golden State (-5.5)

Pick: Lean Detroit

Total: 224.5 (Lean Under – 223)

Predicted Score: Golden State 113 – Detroit 110

Notes: The Pistons got the surprise win over the Lakers on Thursday but now they are on the road again where they are 1-7. The Warriors are 7-4 at home and have a good chance of bouncing back after their loss to the Suns on Thursday.
