Panther and Arch make their picks in the NBA today.

Excerpts from Max’s Notes:

NBA Pelicans at Celtics New Orleans beat up on the Knicks last night and continue to improve as a basketball team. But now have to head to Boston in a back to back to face a Celtics team that will do anything today to avoid losing four in a row. Boston suffered a rare home loss on Wednesday but I don’t see that happening again.

Timberwolves at Rockets Both teams had off on Friday and both teams have question marks for key players at center. Karl Anthony Towns night come back today but it hasn’t been officially announced and Clint Capela might miss the game but it hasn’t been officially announced. Without KAT, the T-Wolves have relied more on Wiggins and have done okay. They have won 4 of 5 and have been stellar ATS. The Rockets have only covered in 2 of their last 5 and have had a busy week. They are one of the league’s oldest teams roster wise and playing a three games in four nights will be tough.

Bulls at Pistons The public has jumped on Chicago and the money is heavily on the Pistons in this one. I’m trying to see what the public likes so much about the Bulls here. I get that the Pistons aren’t world beaters but Derek Rose and Andre Drummond have been putting up some numbers and the Bulls can’t seem to get out of their own way. The Bulls have lost six in a row. Maybe you credit that to a tougher schedule but other than against Utah, they just haven’t looked competitive. The Pistons lost a close one to the Cavs so maybe the public is reacting to that.

Lakers at Thunder The Lakers were able to go on cruise control against the Mavs yesterday which means their starters got some rest in order to be a bit fresher for a back to back. They have won 7 in a row but have a tough matchup today against a Thunder team that is playing damn good basketball. They have won 8 of 10 and coming off a big win over the Rockets in Thursday. It’ll be interesting to see if Anthony Davis plays today or gets to rest his glute injury. This ones really tough for me. The Lakers as an underdog is something you won’t see much this year.

Sixers at Mavs The Sixers are dealing with life without Joel Embiid and looked pretty good at home against the Celtics. But now they are on the road where they are 7-12. They are playing a Mavs team that had to play last night and are still missing Porzingis but I’ve been burned too many times betting Philly on the road.

Cavs at Nuggets The Nuggets are playing a Cavs team that got a win this week already and doesn’t get many wins in general so there’s little risk to losing this game – but covering this game is a different story. The Nuggets are 15-4 at home.
