Max is back and ready to right the ship in the NBA. We make our picks in the three games today.

Excerpts from Max’s Notes:

Wizards at Cavs Cleveland was on a 4 game losing streak when they returned home on Monday for an easy win over the Knicks. Only they didn’t win. In fact, they ended up losing by 20 points. So now they welcome the Bullets into town as they come off an OT loss in Miami yesterday. The Bullets have now lost 5 road games in a row and their once prolific offense has come down to earth. Cleveland is 8-12-1 at home ATS and 0-3 ATS as a favorite. The line is pretty spot on as I have this as a pick em. Somethings got to give. Lakers at Nets The square sucker play did not pay off last night as the Knicks managed not to lose to the Lakers by double digits. Now LA heads across town to Brooklyn so LeBron can take on his former friend Kyrie. Maybe. Kyrie did miss Monday’s game and listed as probable tonight. Let’s see if he has the guts to show up. Anthony Davis and LeBron had solid games last night and there’s no indication that either will sit out in the back to back. The line is moving a little in the wrong direction but I have this as Lakers -6 or -7. LA is 12-10 ATS on the road and are only 5-4-1 ATS in their last 10.

Mavs at Blazers The Mavs are coming off a close loss to the Clippers on Tuesday but Doc Rivers was left wondering if anyone can stop Luka Doncic. He went toe to toe with Kawhi Leonard though both had rough nights from 3 point land. Luka gets to match up with Damian Lillard tonight as the Mavs head to Portland to face the Blazers. Lillard is coming off a 61 point performance in a win over the Warriors on Monday. The Mavs are an excellent road team. They are 14-5 straight up and 13-5-1 ATS. That’s a stark comparison to the Blazers who have struggled at home. They are 10-10 straight up and 6-13-1 ATS. They are 4-4-2 ATS at home in their last 10.
