November 2nd NBA, London NFL and NHL Degeneracy

Excerpts from Max’s Notes:

NFL
Texans at Jaguars (London)
Both of these teams are banged up. For Jacksonville, Dede Westbrook is the key offensive player out while wide receiver DJ Chark will play despite a quad injury. The Jags are also hurt in their o-line and linebacker core. Houston’s big loss is Will Fuller. So packing these teams up to London probably isn’t ideal as they all battle with Indy for the AFC South. It’s interesting that we say this is a neutral field but the more teams play at Wembley, the more it becomes a bit more home field.

NBA
Pelicans at Thunder
Both teams sit at 1-4 and are at a crossroads of rebuilding with the Pelicans maybe slightly ahead with Brandon Ingram and eventually Zion coming back. They also have a proven guard with Jrue Holiday coming back today. The Thunder have some good young talent and veterans to mentor them but that has yet to result in wins.
Nets at Pistons
The Nets got a big win last night and now travel to Detroit for a back to back. The Nets have lost two games in OT so they could have a better record while the Pistons have not looked consistent due to injuries and are coming off a bad loss yesterday to the Bulls.
Nuggets at Magic
The Nuggets have dropped two straight including that bizarre loss to the Pelicans. Both teams are struggling to score…
Raptors at Bucks
The Bucks are coming off a win last night and are looking to do something they couldn’t do in the playoffs last year: beat the Raptors. This is a different Raptors team of course but still looking good. Led by Pascal Siakim and his 28 points per game, this is a dangerous team to have to play in a back to back.
Suns at Grizzlies
Let’s get this out of the way: Ja Morant. There said his name like I imagine we will say on the show numerous times this year. This kid is good. Not as electric as Devin Booker. Yet.
Timberwolves at Wizards
The Bullets have a chance to steal a win against the Timberwolves as Karl Anthony Towns will miss today’s game with a suspension. The Bullets have put up some points lately and have lost a few close games.
Hornets at Warriors
There would never be a time that I legitimately thought the Hornets would beat the Warriors. Until now. After being decimated by the Spurs at home last night the new issue for Golden State is Draymond Green is now injured with ligament damage. The Hornets have managed to get some good play from Cody Zeller and Davonte Graham.
Sixers at Blazers
The good news is we don’t have to play the game about if Joel Embiid will play or not. He won’t due to a suspension after getting into a slap fight with Karl Anthony Towns. The Blazers and Whiteside will be happy to not see him and will look for a good win at home after returning from a 4 game road trip.

NHL
Flames at Blue Jackets
The Blue Jackets have lost three in a row and Calgary is coming off an epic win over Nashville the other night. A game I thought I had in hand and was dead wrong. Calgary has played well recently even in their losses.
Canucks at Sharks
The Sharks have lost three in a row including a bad loss to Arch’s shitty Winnipeg Jets. The Canucks lost a close one yesterday. The public is all over Vancouver and the money is completely opposite.
