It’s the playoffs, playoffs? For the PGA Tour, already. The top 125 FedExCup points qualifiers will meet in the Northern Trust Invitational. With only 125 players, you’ll need to get all six golfers across the cutline to have a chance at the top prize, but we would not be surprised to see up to 75 players teeing it up on the weekend.
They’ll let it fly at TPC Boston, a 7,342 yard course that plays par in 71. This is a track and layout that favors long-hitters. Don’t they all nowadays? Expect the winning score to be somewhere around -13 to -17 with big name golfers hogging the top of the leaderboard.
Based on our rankings, some potential head to head waging matchups we like for the Tournament include:
Marc Leishman -110 versus Bubba Watson -110. Take Leishman to win tournament.
It’s a close call, but we like the value with Gary Woodland +125 versus Patrick Cantlay -145. Take Woodland first round.
Another value play Adam Hadwin +173 versus Jason Day -205, although Day has performed well at TPC Boston, but he is always an injury risk. Take Hadwin 1st round.
