Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 1/11/22
PHX (-4) at TOR (4)
Pick: Bet $10 TOR ML
Total: 223.5 (Lean Over – 225)
Predicted Score: PHX 112 – TOR 113
Notes: The Suns have 9 losses on the season. One of those losses came three days ago as the Heat went into Phoenix and slapped them around.
Now the Suns will try to avoid losing two in a row – something that happened only twice this season – as they head to Toronto to play a Raptors team that is playing surprisingly well this season.
The Raptors have won 6 games in a row and have improved to 12-10 at home this season. They are overall healthy at this point and their offense seems to be clicking.
Toronto leads the league in fast break points per game – ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies who have some of the more young dynamic players in the game. The Raptors are also 4th in turnovers allowed per game.
So while they don’t have the flashy names or bigtime shooters anymore – this is a team that is playing some smart basketball and winning games.
The value is on them to steal a win.
$10 moneyline bet on the Raptors.
DEN (-1.5) at LAC (1.5)
Pick: Bet $10 DEN ML
Total: 212.5 (Lean Under – 210)
Predicted Score: DEN 107 – LAC 103
Notes: Denver has been a pretty mediocre team this season. Their depth is to blame as injuries and Covid protocols have probably hampered them more than most teams.
Almost halfway through the season they are two games above .500 and exactly .500 on the road.
They are riding a 2-game winning streak and will be happy to be playing a Clippers team that is still without Paul George.
Despite they injury woes, LA managed to win over Atlanta two days ago. Marcus Morris has kept this team afloat.
It will be interesting to see if Morris goes to enact some revenge on behalf of his brother – who Jokic cheap-shotted earlier this season.
You can’t trust either team here but when one team has the reigning MVP as their leading scorer and the other has a journeyman who played his college ball at Kansas as their leading scorer, I will tend to side with the former.
$10 moneyline bet on the Nuggets.
OKC (9) at WAS (-9)
Pick: Lean OKC
Total: 216 (Lean Over – 217)
Predicted Score: OKC 106 – WAS 111
GSW (-1) at MEM (1)
Pick: Lean MEM
Total: 218.5 (Lean Under – 209)
Predicted Score: GSW 100 – MEM 109
MIN (-4) at NOP (4)
Pick: Lean MIN
Total: 227 (Lean Under – 223)
Predicted Score: MIN 115 – NOP 108
Pittsburgh Penguins (-145) at Anaheim Ducks (125)
Pick: Bet $10 Pittsburgh
Notes: The Penguins dropped their last game – breaking a nice win 3-game streak they were enjoying post Covid-break.
Now they look to get back on track by heading to Anaheim to take on a Ducks team that enjoyed playing Detroit after a brutal schedule to kick off their post-break.
Anaheim has enjoyed a surprising season and are only 2 points behind Vegas in the Pacific Division.
The Penguins have some work to do in their division but when you have to deal with Carolina, the Rangers and Capitals – it’s hard to lead the pack.
I like them to grab a win today.
$10 bet on Pittsburgh.
Detroit Red Wings (115) at San Jose Sharks (-135)
Pick: Bet $10 Detroit
Notes: My numbers say San Jose should win this game but the plus line on Detroit and the huge discrepancy between the public and money on this one has me intrigued. Detroit is only 1-4 over their last 5.
Their lone win? Over the Sharks.
San Jose has won two in a row since then and return home where they are slightly above .500 this season.
Detroit has not been able to find much success on the road this year – a trend that dates back to last season where you could find some good value on them at home while avoiding them on the road.
Well, I probably should be avoiding them here but greed is good.
$10 bet on the Red Wings.
Vancouver Canucks (175) at Florida Panthers (-205)
Pick: Lean Florida
Tampa Bay Lightning (-250) at Buffalo Sabres (210)
Pick: Lean Tampa Bay
Chicago Blackhawks (-110) at Columbus Blue Jackets (-110)
Pick: Lean Chicago
Colorado Avalanche (-155) at Nashville Predators (135)
Pick: Lean Colorado
Toronto Maple Leafs (-110) at Vegas Golden Knights (-110)
Pick: Lean Toronto
