Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 1/13/22
MIN (5) at MEM (-5)
Pick: Bet $10 MEM ML
Total: 230 (Lean Under – 227)
Predicted Score: MIN 112 – MEM 115
Notes: The Southwest Division is one of the lacking divisions in the Western Conference. But when you have Luca in your division and your team leads his team by 6 games, you know you are on the right track.
The Memphis Grizzlies have won 10 games in a row. They take on a T-Wolves team that has been playing some pretty good basketball lately.
Minnesota has won 4 of 5 games – with that loss coming the other night against a Pelicans team that has been dangerous when they play at home as of late.
New Orleans beat the Warriors, Cavs, and Bucks at home recently. So I won’t take that loss as a slight to Minnesota.
So I expect a competitive basketball game in this one for sure. Ultimately, I think the Grizzlies win their 11th straight game and while it’s close, I’ll still do it.
$10 moneyline bet on Memphis.
OKC (9.5) at BKN (-9.5)
Pick: Bet $10 OKC ML
Total: 215.5 (Lean Over – 219)
Predicted Score: OKC 109 – BKN 110
Notes: The Nets were on the road in Chicago yesterday and pulled out a big win. Trust me. I know.
Now they return home in a back-to-back to host a Thunder team that is just 5-14 on the road this season. OKC has lost 5 games in a row.
So after cruising to a win over the Bulls yesterday, the Nets should be ready to do the same against OKC, right? Well, I’m not so sure.
I think this game could be a lot closer. Kyrie will miss the home game tonight and while Patty Mills had a very good game off the bench yesterday, adjusting to and from a bench player to starter is tough.
This just seems like a game that Brooklyn players may take off. Maybe not physically miss the game, just mentally take for granted.
I have the Nets winning this game. Barely. So I’ll take a flyer and bet $10 on the OKC moneyline.
GSW (2.5) at MIL (-2.5)
Pick: Lean MIL
Total: 223 (Lean Under – 219)
Predicted Score: GSW 108 – MIL 111
LAC (2.5) at NOP (-2.5)
Pick: Lean LAC
Total: 215.5 (Lean Over – 220)
Predicted Score: LAC 110 – NOP 110
POR (9) at DEN (-9)
Pick: Lean DEN
Total: 215.5 (Lean Over – 228)
Predicted Score: POR 109 – DEN 119
New Jersey Devils (165) at New York Islanders (-200)
Pick: Bet $10 New Jersey
Notes: The Islanders have not played a game since their New Year’s win over the Oilers. So hard to tell what kind of team hits the ice tonight.
New Jersey has been an inconsistent team this season and have been particularly bad on the road.
But eyeing up this plus line against an Islanders team that has not gotten anywhere close to playing to their preseason expectations seems like a nice play.
I’ll take my home state team to get a win today.
$10 bet on the Devils.
Pittsburgh Penguins (-140) at Los Angeles Kings (120)
Pick: Bet $10 Pittsburgh
Notes: The Penguins continue to be a team that I gravitate towards for betting. And other than a loss to the Stars, I have been able to cash on those bets.
But the Kings are a team you can’t discount. Particularly recently where they have managed to string together some wins. It’s just tough to get too excited about wins over the Canucks, Flyers, Red Wings and a depleted Rangers team.
It is easy to get excited about Pittsburgh with the way Tristan Jarry has played this season. He leads the league with a 1.91 goals against and has the 3rd best save percentage in the league.
Offensively, the Penguins are a top 10 team and do well with high danger opportunities. And it could get better if their expected goals are an indication of what they could be doing.
I like them to get it done today.
$10 bet on the Penguins.
Vancouver Canucks (200) at Tampa Bay Lightning (-250)
Pick: Lean Tampa Bay
Columbus Blue Jackets (185) at Carolina Hurricanes (-230)
Pick: Lean Carolina
Philadelphia Flyers (200) at Boston Bruins (-250)
Pick: Lean Boston
Winnipeg Jets (-140) at Detroit Red Wings (120)
Pick: Lean Winnipeg
Buffalo Sabres (235) at Nashville Predators (-300)
Pick: Lean Nashville
Seattle Kraken (185) at St. Louis Blues (-230)
Pick: Lean St. Louis
Montreal Canadiens (150) at Chicago Blackhawks (-175)
Pick: Lean Chicago
Ottawa Senators (195) at Calgary Flames (-240)
Pick: Lean Calgary
New York Rangers (-125) at San Jose Sharks (105)
Pick: Lean New York
