Week 17 Recap
Awful week. My run of destroying QBs continued as Tua Tagovailoa shit the bed. So my stack with Jaylen Waddle was also a bust. Ronald Jones Jr. was also a bad play.
For my bright spots, Braxton Berrios of the Jets had a great game putting up 21.7 points. Damien Harris did his thing and the Patriots’ defense paid for itself for sure.
QB: Ryan Tannehill (TEN – $7300) – I am going to do something I have not done before. A triple stack. I am going to start off with Ryan Tannehill – who three 4 picks last time he played the Texans.
The Titans lost that one and with the top seed on the line this week, I bet Ryan has a big game.
WR: A.J. Brown (TEN – $7400) – I’ll stack him up with A.J. Brown at wide receiver. Brown had an off week against the Dolphins in Week 17 but looked amazing against the Niners two weeks ago. I like him to have a big target game on Sunday.
RB: D’Onta Foreman (TEN – $6900) – The Titans run game is third best in the league. They have not had Derek Henry for half of the season. Foreman has played a huge role for them and with he specter of Henry’s return around, I like him to put up a big last hurrah this week.
RB: Jonathan Taylor (IND – $10000) – If Indy wins, they are in. Expect the best back in the game to run the ball like crazy
DEF: Colts ($4800) – I mean, here’s another stack for you. Taking the Colts defense with Taylor. I did mention that if Indy wins they are in, right? That defense should be brutal against the Jags this week.
QB: Carson Wentz (IND -$7200) – I mentioned that if Indy wins they are in, right? So do you think they will let Carson Wentz fuck that all up? The running game will do its thing and Wentz will play a nice game of “don’t turn the fucking ball over.”
RB: Rex Burkhead (HOU – $5600) – Some people might be tempted to take Burkhead as a value play. He’s had some big games this season but the Titans’ run defense has been awesome lately. They won’t be fucking around this week.
WR: Braxton Berrios (NYJ – $5900) – I picked him last week and he produced. I don’t like him this week against the Bills.
DEF: Packers, Bengals, and Cowboys – You won’t see full squads from any of these teams so best to avoid putting them in despite possibly favorable matchups.
RB: Devonta Freeman (BAL – $5600) – I like Freeman to put up some yards on the Steelers and maybe even get a redzone TD. This is an important game for both teams so should be a hard-hitting match-up with the running game on display.
WR: Odell Beckham Jr. (LAR – $6500) – He’s been good for at least 1 TD a game and with the Niners focusing attention on Cooper Kupp, OBJ could get more targets this week.
WR: Brandon Aiyuk (SF – $6000) – In the same game, there’s Aiyuck who won’t draw Jalen Ramsey. As the Rams’ defense focuses on Deebo, Aiyuck could benefit from that. It’ll be even better if Trey Lance gets the start since it seems like these guys had a connection last week.
TE: Tyler Conklin (MIN – $5300) – Honestly, this is kind of a meaningless game. So I hate picking players when nothing is on the line. But it could also mean that players wanting contracts could have a big game. Conklin is an unrestricted free agent after this year so hoping he gets some good footage in his last game of the season.
BOS (-1) at NYK (1)
Pick: Bet $10 NYK ML
Total: 210.5 (Lean Under – 210)
Predicted Score: BOS 104 – NYK 106
Notes: The Celtics lost to the fucking Spurs yesterday and now they head to New York to take on a Knicks team that has struggled to win at home this year.
New York is just 8-11 at MSG this season – but they are coming off a good home win over the Pacers the other day. Julius Randle is back but Kemba Walker remains out.
Which means that Kemba won’t get a chance to burn his former team.
The Celtics welcomed Jayson Tatum back yesterday but it did them no good. This team is a clusterfuck. Two games under .500 and 7-12 on the road this year.
I don’t love the Knicks here but my distrust of the Celtics is enough to back New York.
$10 moneyline bet on the Knicks.
GSW (-3.5) at NOP (3.5)
Pick: Lean GSW
Total: 218.5 (Lean Under – 218)
Predicted Score: GSW 111 – NOP 107
DET (12.5) at MEM (-12.5)
Pick: Lean DET
Total: 219.5 (Lean Over – 224)
Predicted Score: DET 107 – MEM 117
LAC (11.5) at PHX (-11.5)
Pick: Lean LAC
Total: 219 (Lean Under – 218)
Predicted Score: LAC 107 – PHX 111
Columbus Blue Jackets (115) at New Jersey Devils (-135)
Pick: Bet $10 New Jersey
Notes: Columbus might have a defensive issue. They’ve bled goals recently. And while the Devils’ offense isn’t potent – it’s been productive as of late.
I hate eating chalk on this New Jersey team but crazy enough, it seems like a good play.
$10 bet on the Devils.
New York Rangers (140) at Vegas Golden Knights (-170)
Pick: Bet $10 New York
Notes: The Golden Knights have lost 2 in a row and hard to believe they would lose 3. But I like this Rangers team when Shesterkin is in goal.
The Rangers have beaten Tampa twice and Edmonton since returning from their break. This team travels well and is capable of going toe-to-toe with the elite teams in this league.
Value play here.
$10 bet on the Rangers.
Nashville Predators (-130) at Los Angeles Kings (110)
Pick: Bet $10 Nashville
Notes: The Kings have had 5 days off since their New Year’s in over the Flyers. They continue their homestand as the Predators come into town.
Nashville just beat the Golden Knights in Vegas and will look to win their 3rd in a row.
This Predators team is a dangerous one and plays very well on the road.
I think they grab a win today.
$10 bet on Nashville.
San Jose Sharks (-135) at Buffalo Sabres (110)
Pick: Lean San Jose
Minnesota Wild (150) at Boston Bruins (-175)
Pick: Lean Boston
Calgary Flames (120) at Tampa Bay Lightning (-140)
Pick: Lean Calgary
Pittsburgh Penguins (-175) at Philadelphia Flyers (150)
Pick: Lean Pittsburgh
Florida Panthers (-130) at Dallas Stars (110)
Pick: Lean Florida
Winnipeg Jets (185) at Colorado Avalanche (-220)
Pick: Lean Colorado
Detroit Red Wings (120) at Anaheim Ducks (-140)
Pick: Lean Anaheim
Chicago Blackhawks (-155) at Arizona Coyotes (135)
Pick: Lean Chicago
