Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 11/21/22
Max’s Week 11 Touchdown
Point 1: Carted off the Fields
Justin Fields suffered a shoulder injury in Chicago’s 27-24 loss to the Falcons yesterday.
But I mean, does it matter?
Does he even need a shoulder?
Fields threw for 153 yards and 1 TD but it was once again his legs that did the damage.
He ran for 85 yards and a TD – outrushing running backs Cordarrelle Patterson and David Montgomery.
It was Patterson that made history though as he returned yet another kickoff return for a TD.
His 103-yard return set the record for the most kickoff returns with nine all time.
Point 2: A Detroit Home Win
Fans of Ford Field got to experience a solid home win this week.
Of course, it was the Bills as the home team in Detroit getting the win.
The Bills managed to escape the snowfall of Buffalo and travel to the great state of Michigan in order to beat the Browns 31-23.
To be fair, the road Lions also got a win as they were in New Jersey beating up the New York Frauds 31-18.
Oh wait, when I said New York Frauds did you think I meant the Jets?
Yeah, well they can fit description too as they lost 10-3 to the Patriots.
Point 3: Have the Cowboys stopped scoring yet?
Asking for a friend.
That friend is Saxy Maxy.
Because he’d like the pain to stop.
Dallas went into Minnesota and stomped on the Vikings 40-3.
It was a letdown game for the Vikings after winning their Super Bowl last week against the Bills.
For Dallas, they bounce back from a shocking loss to a bad Packers team and now they look like a football team that could get bounced in the first round instead of missing the playoffs altogether.
Point 4: I miss Jeff Fisher
At least the Rams would be .500 right now.
They showed some glimpses of offensive brilliance yesterday but that went down hill once Stafford was placed in concussion protocols again.
With Cooper Kupp missing 6-8 weeks with ankle surgery and Stafford’s brains scrambled like eggs, I think the Rams should just punt the season and give the Lions the best first round draft pick they can.
Hell, maybe the Lions could draft a QB and Jared Goff could come back home.
We’ll need a new QB after Stafford gets hit one more time.
Point 5: Saturday turned to Sunday real quick
Jeff Saturday got a real taste of the NFL as he tried to go toe-to-toe with the Eagles and came up a little short.
The Colts kind of dominated the Eagles for most of the game – but never really found a way to stop Jalen Hurts.
And in the end, it was Hurts’ legs that doomed the Colts and led to a 17-16 Philly win.
For Eagles coach Nick Sirianni, it was an emotional win as it was his first game in Indy since being an assistant under Frank Reich.
Maybe Frank can be an assistant under Sirianni now.
Point 6: The Raiders Looked Good
At the end of the 4th and in overtime, I mean.
It was the most inspired football I saw from this team all season.
Maybe Derek Carr’s emotional breakdown last week got this team motivated to win.
Too bad they are 3-7 and the season is fucking over for them.
But hey, better late than never, right?
For Denver, they switched offensive play calling and their offense still looked like shit.
So it’s safe to say they have 245 million other reasons the offense is awful.
Extra Point: I miss Travis Kelce
For those of you who have listened to this show for years first off, my condolences, but secondly you may know that I used to have Travis Kelce as the tight end on my team for many seasons.
Last year, I traded Kelce and instantly regretted it.
This season, I opted to draft Kyle Pitts as my tight end. His results?
2.90, 2.90, 11.20, 3.00, 0.00, 9.40, 2.40, 16.50, 3.70, 3.80 and 5.80.
Travis had 6 catches for 115 yards and 3 TDs last night – including the go-ahead TD that allowed KC to beat the Chargers 30-27 last night.
If you took just his last night’s performance and his week 5 performance, he’d have more fantasy points than Kyle Pitts has had all season.
So yes Mr. Kelce.
If you somehow hear this, just know that I appreciate you.
And Kyle Pitts can go fuck himself.
And that is Max’s Week 11 touchdown.
NFL Week 11 Monday Night Football Bets
San Francisco (-8) vs. Arizona (8)
Spread: Bet $50 Arizona
Total: Lean Under 42.5
Predicted Score: San Francisco 24 – Arizona 22 (46)
Notes: The NFL has visited the UK and Germany this year and now they head to Mexico for a Monday night battle at Estadio Azteca.
The Cardinals will act as the home team in the match as they look to win consecutive games for the first time this season.
Arizona got the win over the Rams last week in the battle of the backup QBs but now Kyler will respond to the call of duty this week and lead the Cardinals to battle division rival San Francisco.
The 49ers, with a win tonight, will be tied with the Seahawks for 1st place in the NFC West.
San Francisco has won two in a row – beating both LA teams.
Which I’m not sure is such a badge of honor this year.
But still, the Niners are looking like a team that could make a run in the NFC and it could start with a win today.
But I just cannot get to the 8 points here.
I had a profitable day yesterday and was OK with walking out of this week in the black but screw it.
$50 bet on the Cardinals.
BOS (-6) at CHI (6)
Pick: Bet $10 BOS ML -235
Notes: Time to rip the band-aid off again.
I’ve hit on Boston my last few bets and jumping on them again today.
Chicago has lost 4 in a row and maybe this is a prime spot for them to show up and get a much needed win.
Or they can sit and lament the start Markkanen is having in Utah while Lavine has not looked like the guy they paid for.
The Celtics have won 9 in a row and have shown the league they are ready to make another push to the Finals.
I like Boston on the road to grab the win.
$10 moneyline bet on the Celtics.
ATL (2.5) at CLE (-2.5)
Pick: Bet $10 CLE ML -142
Notes: Ever since declaring the Cavs the best team in the East, they’ve shit the bed.
They have bounced back a bit in their last 2 games to improve to 6-1 at home this year.
Atlanta has struggled a bit on the road – and in general they’ve struggled from the field the past few weeks.
I think Cleveland grabs the win tonight so a $10 moneline bet on the Cavs.
NYK (2.5) at OKC (-2.5)
Pick: Bet $10 OKC ML -136
Notes: I was wrong about OKC last time I bet them but I’m still giving them a shot.
This is a dynamic, young team that has shown a lot of promise in this early season.
The Knicks are entering game 5 of their road trip – losing their past 2.
Shai and Giddey present a real challenge to the Knicks’ defense and I think the Thunder hold homecourt and get the win.
Hate eating chalk on the Thunder, but here I am.
$10 moneyline bet on OKC.
ORL (7) at IND (-7)
Pick: Lean IND
MIA (8.5) at MIN (-8.5)
Pick: Lean MIN
POR (9) at MIL (-9)
Pick: Lean POR
GSW (5.5) at NOP (-5.5)
Pick: Lean GSW
UTA (4.5) at LAC (-4.5)
Pick: Lean LAC
