Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 11/23/21
LAL (3.5) at NYK (-3.5)
Pick: Bet $10 NYK ML
Total: 214.5 (Lean Under – 213)
Predicted Score: LAL 105 – NYK 108
Notes: LeBron will miss tonight’s game as he was suspended for his elbowing fiasco in his last game against the Pistons. The Lakers got the win in that one – which broke a 3-game losing streak.
They continue their road trip today and take on a Knicks team that has stumbled after a hot start.
New York is just 4-5 at home this season. That’s a far cry from last season when they were 25-11 at MSG. Still, this team has talent and if Randle can go toe-to-toe with Davis tonight, it should be a good game.
$10 moneyline bet on the Knicks.
DEN (5.5) at POR (-5.5)
Pick: Bet $10 POR ML
Total: 212.5 (Lean Over – 218)
Predicted Score: DEN 106 – POR 112
Notes: Two teams going in opposite directions – like ships passing in the night. Denver has lost 4 of 5 and might have lost Michael Porter Jr. for the season with a nerve issue.
The Blazers have won 4 of 5 games with their lone loss … against Denver.
Still, I like how the Blazers are playing lately – particularly at home where their effective field goal % the past few weeks is close to 59%.
They have only one loss at home this season and I just don’t see them getting #2 tonight.
$10 moneyline bet on Portland.
MIA (-9.5) at DET (9.5)
Pick: Lean DET
Total: 207.5 (Lean Over – 215)
Predicted Score: MIA 109 – DET 106
Notes: Miami is coming off a 3-point loss to the Wizards 3 days ago and sit just 5-5 on the road this year. The Pistons are 2-7 at home and have lost 4 of 5 games.
DAL (4.5) at LAC (-4.5)
Pick: Lean DAL
Total: 207.5 (Lean Over – 210)
Predicted Score: DAL 103 – LAC 107
Notes: Luka is listed as questionable with an ankle injury. Nicolas Batum is still out for the Clippers. Dallas has lost 3 games in a row including losing to the Clippers in LA just 2 days ago.
Philadelphia Flyers (140) at Tampa Bay Lightning (-160)
Pick: Bet $10 Tampa Bay
Notes: The Flyers have lost two in a row including a 4-3 loss to Tampa last week. The Lightning have won 4 of 5 and are gaining ground in the Atlantic Division.
The Lightning have had some defensive issues this season as they rank 18th in goals against per game and 25th in save percentage.
It has been goaltending that has kept the Flyers afloat this season as they rank 4th in save percentage and 9th in goals against.
The problem with Philly is that they cannot score. And Tampa can. So while Tampa’s defense has been getting better, Philly’s offense has stagnated.
I could see some value in the Flyers because of their defense and ability to keep it close – but I expect the Tampa offense to produce tonight at home.
$10 bet on the Lightning.
Edmonton Oilers (-105) at Dallas Stars (-115)
Pick: Bet $10 Edmonton
Notes: The Talent divide between these two teams is pretty remarkable. The Oilers should be able to wipe the ice with the Stars.
So it makes me worried that this line is so low.
Dallas has played better at home as of late. So maybe that’s the justification. The other thing to consider is that Jake Oettinger is playing well in goal for the Stars lately so maybe they are about to turn a corner.
I just can’t see it being tonight.
$10 bet on Edmonton.
Chicago Blackhawks (180) at Calgary Flames (-220)
Pick: Lean Calgary
Notes: Don’t look now but the Blackhawks don’t completely suck anymore. They still are not at the level to compete with a team like Calgary. But at least they can win some games now.
Marc-Andre Fleury has strung together 4 consecutive good starts but he folded under the pressure of the Winnipeg offense a few weeks back. Maybe he has gotten right but I cannot trust him or Chicago against a team that is 9th in goals for per game and 1st in goals against.
Lean the Flames.
