Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 11/3/21
CHI (1) at PHI (-1)
Pick: Bet $10 PHI
Total: 216.5 (Lean Under – 214)
Predicted Score: CHI 107 – PHI 109
Notes: The Bulls are 6-1 to start the year and a perfect 3-0 on the road. But they head to Philly where the 76ers have been tough to beat at home. Chicago has had the tougher strength of schedule so far and they have a versatile team that matches up well with the Sixers.
But Philly shoots the ball so damn well when at home. This is a team that has a 59% EFG% at home this season and with the home crowds in place, they’ve been unstoppable at times from the field. This is a close one so definitely not a lock by any stretch. But I’ll still bet $10 on the 76ers.
NYK (1.5) at IND (-1.5)
Pick: Bet $10 NYK
Total: 218 (Lean Over – 222)
Predicted Score: NYK 113 – IND 109
Notes: The Knicks and I do not have a great betting history. This dates back a few years on this podcast. Rewind to Monday’s show and you would have heard me moneyline $20 on them. That did not go well. Still, this is a pretty damn good team. And Toronto is playing some good basketball lately so that loss is not as big of a surprise in retrospect.
If they lose to Indiana today that would be more of a concern. I get that the Pacers are coming off their best game of the season but this is a team that has lacked consistency and is not shooting the ball all too well this season.
The Knicks will want to avoid a 2-game skid and should be able to get the win today. $10 bet on New York.
DAL (-1.5) at SAS (1.5)
Pick: Bet $10 SAS
Total: 216.5 (Lean Under – 213)
Predicted Score: DAL 103 – SAS 110
Notes: The Mavs got toasted yesterday and now they make the short trip to San Antonio to take on the Spurs. San Antonio is returning home from a 3-game road trip which saw them beat the defending champs but also get toasted by the Pacers. And throw in a road loss to this same Mavs team as well.
Still, I think the Spurs is the play here today. Porzingis probably won’t play today and if he does, he’d be limited in what he could do. Luca will be the best player on the court but there is only so much he can do.
I like the young players on San Antonio. I’d like them better today if McDermott were available. But as long as Dejounte Murray has a good game and can distribute the ball well, the loss of McDermott’s production should be felt less.
At least I’m hoping so.
$10 bet on the Spurs.
BOS (-6.5) at ORL (6.5)
Pick: Lean ORL
Total: 215.5 (Lean Over – 229)
Predicted Score: BOS 117 – ORL 112
TOR (3) at WAS (-3)
Pick: Lean TOR
Total: 218.5 (Lean Over – 219)
Predicted Score: TOR 111 – WAS 108
POR (-4.5) at CLE (4.5)
Pick: Lean CLE
Total: 219.5 (Lean Under – 217)
Predicted Score: POR 107 – CLE 110
ATL (5) at BKN (-5)
Pick: Lean ATL
Total: 218.5 (Lean Under – 209)
Predicted Score: ATL 103 – BKN 106
DEN (1.5) at MEM (-1.5)
Pick: Lean DEN
Total: 213 (Lean Over – 215)
Predicted Score: DEN 108 – MEM 107
LAC (1) at MIN (-1)
Pick: Lean MIN
Total: 217.5 (Lean Under – 207)
Predicted Score: LAC 102 – MIN 105
CHA (6) at GSW (-6)
Pick: Lean CHA
Total: 226 (Lean Under – 218)
Predicted Score: CHA 108 – GSW 110
NOP (5.5) at SAC (-5.5)
Pick: Lean NOP
Total: 218.5 (Lean Under – 216)
Predicted Score: NOP 108 – SAC 108
Columbus Blue Jackets (175) at Colorado Avalanche (-201)
Pick: Bet $10 Colorado
Notes: Has Colorado looked like a dominant team out of the gate? No. But are they bad? Absolutely not. This team has had a very hard schedule out of the gate and while they look like they have taken a step back since last season, their offense is starting to Pick things up.
Columbus has managed to look decent and I would not fault anyone for taking a value shot on them today – but I have the Avalanche winning this one handily. So I’ll eat the chalk and bet $10 on Colorado.
Carolina Hurricanes (-152) at Chicago Blackhawks (134)
Pick: Lean Chicago
Notes: The Hurricanes have yet to lose and Chicago has a -16 goal differential. The money is hammering Carolina and this line is still only -150 something? It seems off to me.
Nashville Predators (150) at Edmonton Oilers (-175)
Pick: Lean Nashville
Notes: Edmonton should win but I have this close. Nashville is not a terrible team and with a plus line there is some value.
St. Louis Blues (-135) at Los Angeles Kings (115)
Pick: Lean Los Angeles
Notes: Another one that does not seem right. The Blues outscored LA 10-3 over two games recently and this line is suspiciously low.
