NBA

Sports Bet Picks for 12/22/21

CLE (5.5) at BOS (-5.5)

Pick: Bet $10 CLE ML

Total: 211.5 (Lean Over – 217)

Predicted Score: CLE 114 – BOS 103

Notes: Let’s rip the bandaid off. The Cavs are the most surprising team in the league this year. Winners of 6 in a row, Cleveland improved to 19-12 on the season.

With their previous win over the Bucks, they also improved to 10-5 on the road. So now they head to Boston to take on a Celtics team that is the model of mediocrity, inconsistency and disappointment.

The Celtics thought it was a great idea to put Enes Freedom on Joel Embiid in their last game. Or maybe they didn’t have a choice.

And while the Cavs don’t have a big man as good as Embiid, they have a few big men that will cause havoc with the Boston interior defenders.

Boston is better off now that Jaylen Brown is back to normal but I still think they don’t have enough to match with the better teams in the league.

And yeah, I guess Cleveland counts as that right now.

$10 moneyline bet on Cleveland.

ORL (8.5) at ATL (-8.5)

Pick: Bet $10 ORL ML

Total: 215.5 (Lean Over – 227)

Predicted Score: ORL 114 – ATL 113

Notes: Orlando has only 6 wins on the season. Their last one came over a depleted Nets team. Now I am banking on them grabbing another one over a depleted Hawks team.

Atlanta will be without Trae Young – who is in placed in COVID protocols and is also nursing a bad ankle. Atlanta also has some other issues with Bogdanovic, Capela and Gallinari all listed as out.

The Magic are also dealing with some issues as Mo Bamba is out, Cole Anthony has an ankle injury and Michael Carter-Williams is out. Anthony should suit up today and give the Magic a slight edge here.

I’m in for some torture today as I bet a lot of dogs. This will probably be a loss but I love the payout and the probability is there.

$10 moneyline bet on the Magic.

DEN (-5.5) at OKC (5.5)

Pick: Bet $10 DEN ML

Total: 214.5 (Lean Over – 222)

Predicted Score: DEN 114 – OKC 108

Notes: Don’t look now but the Thunder have won 2 in a row. Can they make it 3?

Nah, I don’t think so.

Denver is coming off a beatdown of the Hawks from 5 days ago. They got some surprise bench help from Bones Hyland who is a baller and not a doctor, Jim.

Reigning MVP Nikola Jokic had a quiet game where he almost had a triple double. So maybe he actually shows up today and puts in a better effort.

Aaron Gordon is questionable for tonight’s game but even without him I do think the Nuggets should be able to handle the Thunder.

$10 moneyline bet on Denver.

HOU (9.5) at MIL (-9.5)

Pick: Bet $10 HOU ML

Total: 224.5 (Lean Under – 223)

Predicted Score: HOU 111 – MIL 112

Notes: I missed on my Rockets bet a couple of days ago against the Bulls but that won’t scare me off of eyeing up Houston today.

The Bucks will once again be without Giannis. In their last game, they were humiliated by the aforementioned Cavs.

Christian Wood is listed as questionable for the Rockets with a knee injury but it does look like he will play. That gives an advantage to the Rockets for sure.

The biggest concern I have here is the Rockets’ poor road play. If this was a home game for Houston I wouldn’t hesitate to bet them.

So here you go. Hesitation.

And now a bet on the Rockets. $10 moneyline bet on Houston.

TOR (9.5) at CHI (-9.5)

Pick: Bet $10 CHI ML

Total: 214 (Lean Over – 235)

Predicted Score: TOR 114 – CHI 117

Notes: The Raptors are coming off a shocking win over the Warriors 4 days ago. They have won 3 of 5 games and their two losses were by a combined 3 points. The issue for them, like many teams, is COVID protocols.

Fred VanVleet, Scottie Barnes, Gary Trent Jr., Pascal Siakim and Goran Dragic will all be out. Without them, I just can’t see them competing in this one.

Chicago will probably be without Zach Lavine once again but Demar DeRozan has been picking up the slack in his absence. Add in the contributions by Lonzo Ball and Nikola Vucevic and you have a really competitive team that is 10-4 at home this season.

If Toronto was healthy, I’d say there is value in betting them. But with the B or C squad out there, the Raptors will have a tough time keeping up here.

$20 moneyline bet on the Bulls.

LAC (-5.5) at SAC (5.5)

Pick: Bet $10 SAC ML

Total: 219.5 (Lean Over – 226)

Predicted Score: LAC 111 – SAC 115

Notes: I feel like my NBA coverage has been mostly reading an injury report. But at least for the Clippers, it’s good news on the injury front as Paul George will play for them today.

Now granted, he also played in their last game and the Clippers got annihilated by the Spurs – resulting in the Clippers’ third loss in a row. But I like them to bounce back today.

Why you ask? Well, time for me to read off the injury report again for Sacramento.

No De’Aron Fox. No Marvin Bagley III. No Terence Davis.

The pressure will be on Buddy Hield and Harrison Barnes to carry the offense. They’ve been a mixed bag as the scoring alphas. In their last game, the Kings couldn’t get to 100 points.

Prior to that, they put up 121 points.

So yeah, big swig there.

I am banking on them being closer to 100 points than the 120 mark.

$10 moneyline bet on the Clippers.
