Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 2/1/22
MIA (2) at TOR (-2)
Pick: Bet $10 TOR ML
Total: 211.5 (Lean Over – 220)
Predicted Score: MIA 108 – TOR 112
Notes: Tyler Hero will take on the Raptors tonight. I guess that’s not fair. He will also have Bam Adebayo with him.
Not on the court for Miami will be Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry.
The Heat are coming off a beatdown by the Celtics yesterday. It was their 2nd loss in a row after losing to Toronto in triple OT just 3 days ago.
This is Miami’s 3rd game in 4 nights and second set of back-to-back games in the past 5 days. No wonder Butler and Lowry are out.
For Toronto, they are coming off a win over the Trae Young-less Hawks yesterday. Trust me. I know.
I mentioned it yesterday that this Raptors team is scrappy. While I think it would be a stretch for them to get into the top 6 of the Eastern Conference playoffs, this is a team that is good enough to make the play-in games for sure.
I like them here tonight to once again beat Miami.
$10 moneyline bet on Toronto.
DEN (2.5) at MIN (-2.5)
Pick: Bet $10 DEN ML
Total: 230.5 (Lean Over – 238)
Predicted Score: DEN 120 – MIN 118
Notes: A couple of injuries here that makes this a tough game to bet this early in the morning. But I am banking on Jokic being ready to go tonight for the Nuggets.
Because without him, this could be a bloodbath. Even if the T-Wolves are missing D-Lo tonight – as he’s slated as a gametime decision as well.
Both teams have been playing some pretty good basketball as of late. The Nuggets have won 5 games in a row. Their last 4 have been on the road.
Minnesota has won 3 of 5 and is coming off a slaughter of the Jazz from two days ago. The T-Wolves are 14-10 at home this season but their home effective field goal % ranks 6th worst in the league.
Their shooting has been better lately but Denver’s defense has been top 10 over the past week – ranking 7th in defensive efficiency, 5th in opponent’s shooting % and 8th in opponent’s points per game in that span.
If the Nuggets can sustain their defensive-minded play, they should be able to see more wins coming their way. Hoping today is one of those wins.
$10 moneyline bet on the Nuggets.
NOP (1.5) at DET (-1.5)
Pick: Lean NOP
Total: 214.5 (Lean Under – 211)
Predicted Score: NOP 105 – DET 106
WAS (11.5) at MIL (-11.5)
Pick: Lean WAS
Total: 223.5 (Lean Under – 222)
Predicted Score: WAS 108 – MIL 114
ORL (10.5) at CHI (-10.5)
Pick: Lean ORL
Total: 218.5 (Lean Over – 224)
Predicted Score: ORL 109 – CHI 115
GSW (-2.5) at SAS (2.5)
Pick: Lean GSW
Total: 217.5 (Lean Over – 226)
Predicted Score: GSW 116 – SAS 110
BKN (7) at PHX (-7)
Pick: Lean BKN
Total: 225.5 (Lean Over – 229)
Predicted Score: BKN 112 – PHX 117
Florida Panthers (-145) at New York Rangers (125)
Pick: Bet $10 Florida
Notes: The Panthers have won 4 games in a row and head to MSG tonight to take on a Rangers team that has slipped out of the top spot in the Metropolitan Division.
New York broke a little losing streak with a win over the Kraken two days ago. Despite a recent loss to the Wild, the Rangers are still one of the better home teams in the league.
So yes, I can understand eyeing them up with the plus line today. Especially with the Panthers being just so-so on the road this year.
But Florida is 4-1 over their last 5 road games and this is a dangerous, dangerous team. Literally. They rank top in high danger shots on goal and high danger goals.
The convert high danger opportunities at a 12.9% clip. That’s good enough for 6th best in the league.
The Rangers are also good with their high danger opportunities but they do not get the volume of shots on goal like Florida does.
The Rangers do have the goaltending advantage here but I just think the number of saves Shesterkin will need tonight will tire him out. And Florida will sneak out the win.
$10 bet on the Panthers.
Calgary Flames (-125) at Dallas Stars (105)
Pick: Bet $10 Calgary
Notes: The Flames have been a spotty team lately. After kicking the Blues’ asses last week, they turned around to get their asses kicked in return.
I guess they are into both aspects of S&M.
For Dallas, they have been on an impressive streak lately. Particularly at home.
Which is why this line seems so odd. Vegas is baiting you to take Dallas here.
Now, my numbers say bet Calgary. Even at the minus line. I was hoping to get a plus line on this one but Vegas is worried about that for sure.
$10 bet on the Flames.

Pick: Lean New York
Vancouver Canucks (175) at Nashville Predators (-205)
Pick: Lean Nashville
Arizona Coyotes (450) at Colorado Avalanche (-575)
