Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 2/15/22
NBA
DAL (3.5) at MIA (-3.5)
Pick: Bet $10 DAL ML
Total: 210 (Lean Over – 214)
Predicted Score: DAL 108 – MIA 106
Notes: Luka put up 45 points in his last game but it was not enough to power past the Clippers. That broke the Mavs’ winning streak and now they head to Miami to take on a streaking Heat team.
Miami has won 5 in a row and have improved to 19-6 at home this year.
The Mavs made their big trade to improve the team around Luka and there’s a good chance he will get that new help tonight.
For Miami, they could be without Jimmy Butler tonight due to a knee injury. He is listed as questionable for the game. Tyler Herro appears to be out for this one too.
I think this is a good chance for the Mavs to steal one from the Heat.
$10 moneyline bet on Dallas.
MEM (-3.5) at NOP (3.5)
Pick: Bet $10 MEM ML
Total: 227 (Lean Over – 228)
Predicted Score: MEM 116 – NOP 112
Notes: Well, I had made money betting on the Pelicans at home this season. Fading them yesterday did not work out well.
CJ McCollum had a solid game and the Pelicans stomped on the Raptors. Now they turn back around to host the Grizzlies – the top team in the Southwest Division.
Memphis has won 5 games in a row – including their last 4 road games. That puts their record at 20-9 on the road this season.
It’s kind of a surprise that the Grizzlies are so successful on the road. Their effective field goal % on the road is only 50.5% – which is almost 4% worse than they shoot at home.
But there is a lot of other things this team does well to make up for that shooting. They rebound well, they have a great assist to turnover ratio, and continue to produce points on the fast break.
And that comes from leading the league in blocks and steals. So this is a team that does a lot of things right to make up for missing shots.
They should do those right things tonight to get the win.
$10 moneyline bet on Memphis.
Leans
CLE (-1.5) at ATL (1.5)
Pick: Lean ATL
Total: 221 (Lean Under – 220)
Predicted Score: CLE 110 – ATL 110
BOS (-1) at PHI (1)
Pick: Lean BOS
Total: 210.5 (Lean Under – 209)
Predicted Score: BOS 109 – PHI 100
CHA (6.5) at MIN (-6.5)
Pick: Lean CHA
Total: 243.5 (Lean Under – 236)
Predicted Score: CHA 116 – MIN 120
IND (11) at MIL (-11)
Pick: Lean IND
Total: 232 (Lean Under – 226)
Predicted Score: IND 109 – MIL 117
LAC (12.5) at PHX (-12.5)
Pick: Lean LAC
Total: 222 (Lean Over – 228)
Predicted Score: LAC 108 – PHX 120
NHL
Boston Bruins (120) at New York Rangers (-140)
Pick: Bet $10 Boston
Notes: Boston has not played their best hockey lately and they find themselves as underdogs today against a Rangers team that just smacked down the Florida Panthers … two weeks ago.
New York has been a surprise all season. I expected them to be pretty good. Right now, they are in a dogfight for the top spot in the Metropolitan Division.
Boston sits at 4th in the Atlantic – trailing Florida, Tampa Bay and Toronto. It will be pretty impossible for them to claw out of that spot.
And playing hockey like they have the past few weeks won’t get that done. Injuries and suspensions have played a role in their lackluster play.
I am hoping Boston can take advantage of the Rangers being a little out of rhythm.
$10 bet on the Bruins.
Edmonton Oilers (120) at Los Angeles Kings (-140)
Pick: Bet $10 Edmonton
Notes: We all thought the Kings would be in third place in the Pacific at this point of the season – two points ahead of the Oilers. Yep, that’s how we all saw this season going.
The Kings have not played in a few weeks. They are in a city where dozens of Rams fans will host a parade for their Super Bowl winning team. Maybe that will be a distraction.
The Oilers are coming off their win yesterday over the Sharks. It was a nice shutout win and now they look to use that momentum against a hopefully rusty Kings team.
$10 bet on the Oilers.
