Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 2/2/22
WAS (9.5) at PHI (-9.5)
Pick: Bet $25 PHI ML
Total: 217.5 (Lean Under – 215)
Predicted Score: WAS 102 – PHI 113
Notes: Two streaking teams here. Philly has won 6 in a row and Washington has lost 5 in a row.
For the Sixers, the last 4 wins have all been at home – improving their home record to 14-10 on the season. The last was an OT win over a tough Grizzlies team.
It seems like Philly has gotten over the Ben Simmons drama. He’s still on the team but no longer a distraction. He probably won’t be traded by the deadline, but the team has moved passed him and found a good rhythm with the players they have available.
The Wizards are without Bradley Beal – who is dealing with a wrist injury. That puts the scoring responsibility on Kyle Kuzma. So yeah, I’m betting Philly here.
A chalky moneyline for sure so I will up the bet to $25.
Moneyline bet on the Sixers.
MEM (-3.5) at NYK (3.5)
Pick: Bet $10 NYK ML
Total: 217 (Lean Over – 219)
Predicted Score: MEM 109 – NYK 110
Notes: The Grizzlies are coming off that aforementioned OT loss to the Sixers so hard to imagine they lose two in a row. Especially to this Knicks team.
But I have New York keeping this close enough to find value on the plus moneyline here.
New York is coming off a blowout win over the Kings – which is not really something to be proud of. The Kings fucking suck.
New York should feel optimistic about Evan Fournier’s shooting lately. He’s coming off back-to-back good games and other than a stinker against the Cavs, his shooting from 3 has been stellar.
Not sure they can deal him because of his contract – but play like this will increase his value. And maybe help them get some wins.
We know the deal with Memphis. They are damn good. Ja Morant is one of the best young players in the league and this team attacks the fast break better than anyone.
So maybe I am burning a $10 bill here but if the Knicks can slow things down, they can sneak out a win.
$10 moneyline bet on the Knicks.
ORL (5) at IND (-5)
Pick: Lean ORL
Total: 221.5 (Lean Over – 239)
Predicted Score: ORL 120 – IND 119
CLE (-3) at HOU (3)
Pick: Lean CLE
Total: 220 (Lean Over – 221)
Predicted Score: CLE 113 – HOU 108
Notes: Instant reaction. This line is too low. But then you see the injuries pile up for Cleveland and maybe that’s why. I will still avoid here – but that moneyline for Cleveland looks like a lock.
CHA (4.5) at BOS (-4.5)
Pick: Lean BOS
Total: 220.5 (Lean Over – 223)
Predicted Score: CHA 109 – BOS 114
OKC (11.5) at DAL (-11.5)
Pick: Lean OKC
Total: 208.5 (Lean Over – 210)
Predicted Score: OKC 101 – DAL 109
BKN (-4) at SAC (4)
Pick: Lean SAC
Total: 230.5 (Lean Over – 239)
Predicted Score: BKN 121 – SAC 118
DEN (2) at UTA (-2)
Pick: Lean DEN
Total: 224.5 (Lean Under – 224)
Predicted Score: DEN 115 – UTA 109
POR (3.5) at LAL (-3.5)
Pick: Lean POR
Total: 222 (Lean Under – 217)
Predicted Score: POR 109 – LAL 108
Edmonton Oilers (120) at Washington Capitals (-140)
Pick: Bet $10 Edmonton
Notes: The Capitals pulled out a win over the Penguins yesterday and now turn around today to host the Oilers. Edmonton are coming off a loss to the Senators but prior to that, they had been playing some very good hockey.
Edmonton was one of the best teams in hockey earlier in the season. They have talent on the team. So it wouldn’t be a surprise if they end up going on a nice little run once again.
Washington, of course, has dealt with their share of cold play this season. January has not been the best month for them. As they sit in 4th in the Metropolitan, they need to get some wins to improve their playoff hopes.
Not sure if they grab a win today. I think its really close so with the plus line, the value is on Edmonton.
$10 bet on the Oilers.
Los Angeles Kings (-140) at Detroit Red Wings (120)
Pick: Bet $10 Los Angeles
Notes: The Red Wings got a good win over the Ducks the other day. Trust me. I know.
Now the Kings are in town as they continue their road trip. It’s a road trip that has gone pretty well for them so far. They have won 3 of their last 5 games and their two losses were close ones.
Granted, their 3 wins were also close ones. So a +1 goal differential through 5 games isn’t anything to be excited about.
But I like this Kings team this year. Detroit is always tough at home but I think the Kings grab the win today.
$10 bet on Los Angeles.
Minnesota Wild (-165) at Chicago Blackhawks (150)
Pick: Lean Minnesota
Calgary Flames (-285) at Arizona Coyotes (240)
Pick: Lean Calgary
