Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 2/25/22
NBA
TOR (-2) at CHA (2)
Pick: Bet $10 TOR ML
Total: 225.5 (Lean Under – 221)
Predicted Score: TOR 114 – CHA 107
Notes: Toronto currently sits in the 7th seed in the East but are only 5.5 games out of the top spot. And only 1 game behind the Celtics to avoid the play-in games.
It should make things interesting the last few months of the season as the Raptors look to make the playoffs after missing last season.
For Charlotte, the season started out promising but fizzled before the break. They lost 4 of 5 heading into the All Star Break and currently sit in 9th in the East.
The Hornets will be without Gordon Hayward tonight. Fred VanVleet is listed as questionable up for Toronto but should play despite a banged up knee.
The Hornets’ shooting went cold the past month. They have a chance to break out of that funk against a Toronto team that does not defend like they used to.
Still, I think the Raptors have the edge here and get the win.
$10 moneyline bet on the Raptors.
MIA (-5) at NYK (5)
Pick: Bet $10 MIA ML
Total: 211 (Lean Over – 221)
Predicted Score: MIA 115 – NYK 106
Notes: The Knicks have made the decision to sit Kemba Walker for the rest of the season – allowing for him to be traded in the offseason.
His value is not too high right now, but he will be an expiring deal – so I am sure some teams would be interested in trading for him to get some salary relief and hope he has something left in the tank.
It’s funny though. For years, people criticized the way Michael Jordan ran the Hornets. When faced with choice to give Kemba a big extension or do a mini rebuild, he chose the latter.
Well, he looks damn smart right now.
As for the Knicks, nothing went right in the off-season and very little has gone right in the regular season. After making the playoffs last season, New York sits 3 games out of the final play-in spot.
Doable, but tough.
As for Miami, they are currently the second seed in the East and possibly the scariest team when healthy. And they appear healthy heading out of the break.
The Heat should get the win today and kick off the second half strong.
$10 moneyline bet on the Heat.
Leans

Pick: Lean DAL
Total: 216.5 (Lean Over – 217)
Predicted Score: DAL 106 – UTA 111

Pick: Lean NOP
Total: 225 (Lean Under – 225)
Predicted Score: NOP 111 – PHX 114
LAC (1) at LAL (-1)
Pick: Lean LAL
Total: 223 (Lean Over – 224)
Predicted Score: LAC 111 – LAL 113
NHL
New Jersey Devils (120) at Chicago Blackhawks (-140)
Pick: Bet $10 New Jersey
Notes: Well, I took a shot on the Devils yesterday and it paid off. Now I will risk some of those winnings by double-dipping on them today.
The Blackhawks have not played in about 5 days so they will be fresh and look to take advantage of New Jersey in a back-to-back.
But after Fleury looked to be bouncing back for a stretch, he gave up 3 goals in his last outing on only 23 shots on goal. He was lucky the Panthers didn’t shoot like they used to.
Nico Daws got the start in goal for the Devils yesterday and played amazingly.
They will probably turn to Jon Gillies in goal tonight with Jonathan Bernier out for the season and Mackenzie Blackwood is on injured reserve with a heel injury.
The money is hammering New Jersey and my probability says they can win this one.
So another $10 bet on my hometown Devils.
