Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 2/9/22
NBA
CHI (-2) at CHA (2)
Pick: Bet $10 CHI ML
Total: 230.5 (Lean Under – 229)
Predicted Score: CHI 116 – CHA 113
Notes: Both teams dealing with some slumping play as of late. I have faded Charlotte a few times recently because their shooting has been ice cold.
This was a team that was one of the best in game in effective field goal % – but they are now one of the worst recently. They should balance things out eventually.
But their cold shooting has led to a 5 game losing streak.
Chicago has been dealing with a slew of injuries that has resulted in them losing 3 of their last 5 games.
Their last one was a close loss to Phoenix. So maybe that’s an indication they will turn things around.
The Bulls are only 14-13 on the road this season. Which is odd since they are the 7th best shooting team on the road this year. So you have to point the finger at the defense.
Chicago is giving up 110.6 points per game on the road. That’s close to be a bottom 10 team in the league there. There defensive efficiency ranks almost as bad.
I do think they are lucky to be catching Charlotte in the middle of a cold streak.
The Bulls’ offense should be able to power them through to a win today even if the defense falters a bit.
$10 moneyline bet on the Bulls.
GSW (3) at UTA (-3)
Pick: Bet $10 GSW ML
Total: 221 (Lean Over – 223)
Predicted Score: GSW 113 – UTA 110
Notes: The Warriors put their 9-game winning streak on the line today as they head to Utah to take on a Jazz team that is riding a 3-game winning streak.
Utah is mostly healthy – although Rudy Gobert is still banged up. Even worse for him is that he could possibly be traded by tomorrow.
A few days ago, rumors about a fractured relationship with Donovan Mitchell surfaced. This isn’t anything new really.
A few years ago the same issues cropped up and they worked through it on the way to a stellar regular season.
But apparently things are still not good and Gobert could catch a ton of value on the market right now.
As for the Warriors, they are fine to eat their popcorn and watch the drama. Their drama left to Brooklyn a few years back.
Something is probably off about this one. I expected the Warriors to be the favorites here. So I’ll jump into a Panther-sized trap and bet $10 on the Warriors moneyline.
Leans
SAS (6.5) at CLE (-6.5)
Pick: Lean SAS
Total: 217 (Lean Under – 214)

MIN (-9) at SAC (9)

Predicted Score: MIN 119 – SAC 115
LAL (-7.5) at POR (7.5)
Pick: Lean POR
Total: 225.5 (Lean Under – 222)
Predicted Score: LAL 113 – POR 109
NHL
Nashville Predators (100) at Dallas Stars (-120)
Pick: Bet $10 Nashville
Notes: Dallas has been a very good home team for, well, years really.
But Nashville is one of the teams at the top of my overall rankings. If they stay healthy, they should be in the thick of a Stanley Cup race in a few months.
The Predators have won 4 of their last 5 games. Now granted – the competition has not been good for them. But they have won those games by multiple goals.
The Stars should put up a fight. But grabbing a plus line on this Predators team – if one is still available – is a solid play.
$10 bet on Nashville.
Vegas Golden Knights (115) at Calgary Flames (-138)
Pick: Bet $10 Calgary
Notes: Well, I bet on the Golden Knights yesterday and hit on them. Time to fade them!
Calgary has won 4 of their last 5 games. They have had a week off so should be rested and ready to go.
Laurent Brossoit was stellar in goal for the Golden Knights yesterday. That means Robin Lehner should get the start for Vegas.
Lehner’s last game was over a week ago. He stopped 30 shots but gave up 2 goals to the Sabres. Overall, he has been very good lately.
So perhaps he keeps them in this one.
But Calgary’s offense is capable of putting up some shots. They aren’t getting high danger shots – but they put up volume shots. And it could eventually lead to Lehner cracking.
I am banking on the Flames doing just that today.
$10 bet on Calgary.
