Sports Bet Picks for 3/5/22

PHI (1) at MIA (-1)

Pick: Bet $10 PHI ML

Total: 220.5 (Lean Over – 228)

Predicted Score: PHI 116 – MIA 112

Notes: The Sixers won again yesterday. It was their 5th straight win and now they sit only 2 games behind the Heat for the #1 seed in the East.

Embiid and Harden were once again very good yesterday – but its been Tyrese Maxey who has reaped the benefits of the new dynamic duo.

The Sixers head down to Miami today and there’s no sign that Embiid or Harden will sit in this back-to-back.

And perhaps they are lucky it is a back-to-back as it doesn’t give Jimmy James too much time to waste away in Miami strip clubs.

Another Jimmy will have extra motivation today against one of his former teams.

A team that jettisoned him because he did not fit with Ben Simmons.

Let’s pause a moment and let that sink in.

After going ice cold against the Bucks earlier in the week, Butler sat out the Heat’s win over the Nets the following day.

Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro powered the Heat to a big win over the returning Kevin Durant.

There is no indication that Butler will miss this game tonight but the Heat may be without Kyle Lowry again.

The Heat are 21-7 at home this season – continuing a trend from previous seasons of strong home play.

The Sixers are 21-10 on the road – which is much better than previous seasons.

Both teams are playing in their 3rd game in 4 night so be interesting to see what they have left in the tank.

Considering this is a playoff type game, I assume they will both play their best.

And right now, it looks like Philly is playing the better ball when they play their best.

$10 moneyline bet on the Sixers.

SAC (7.5) at DAL (-7.5)

Pick: Lean SAC

Total: 221.5 (Lean Over – 222)

Predicted Score: SAC 109 – DAL 113

SAS (4) at CHA (-4)

Pick: Lean SAS

Total: 241 (Lean Under – 241)

Predicted Score: SAS 120 – CHA 121

POR (13) at MIN (-13)

Pick: Lean POR

Total: 233 (Lean Under – 230)

Predicted Score: POR 113 – MIN 117

ORL (15.5) at MEM (-15.5)

Pick: Lean ORL

Total: 231 (Lean Under – 228)

Predicted Score: ORL 111 – MEM 117

GSW (-6) at LAL (6)

Pick: Lean LAL

Total: 225 (Lean Under – 223)

Predicted Score: GSW 113 – LAL 110

St. Louis Blues (-155) at New York Islanders (130)

Pick: Bet $10 St. Louis

Notes: The Blues continue their road trip by sticking around the New York area.

They are coming off a loss to the Rangers the other night but otherwise have been playing some damn good hockey.

They have won 4 of their last 5 games and other than a brief stint at home to beat the Sabres, the Blues have been nomads for a bit.

The Islanders have not been able to find much success lately.

Their defense is a shell of what it used to be and while they have been playing a little better at home lately, it’s still not good enough to be a team to be feared.

I think the play is the Blues here and could bet this up to about -165 or so before backing off.

$10 bet on St. Louis.

Boston Bruins (-195) at Columbus Blue Jackets (165)

Pick: Bet $10 Boston

Notes: The Bruins will look to close out their road trip today after going 4-1 so far.

The Blue Jackets are coming off an OT loss to the Kings from last night so they will be a little gassed heading into this game.

The Bruins, when healthy, are an elite team in this league.

Their defense is legit and the trio of Marchand, Bergeron and Pastrnak are a dominating trio.

Columbus has been playing better lately and could make a playoff push.

I just think they are overmatched here.

$10 bet on the Bruins.

Chicago Blackhawks (110) at Philadelphia Flyers (-130)

Pick: Lean Chicago

Ottawa Senators (-130) at Arizona Coyotes (105)

Pick: Lean Ottawa

Detroit Red Wings (245) at Florida Panthers (-295)

Pick: Lean Florida

Seattle Kraken (200) at Washington Capitals (-240)

Pick: Lean Seattle

Vancouver Canucks (185) at Toronto Maple Leafs (-225)

Pick: Lean Toronto

Montreal Canadiens (205) at Edmonton Oilers (-250)

Pick: Lean Edmonton

Nashville Predators (-175) at San Jose Sharks (150)

Pick: Lean Nashville

Calgary Flames (130) at Colorado Avalanche (-150)

Pick: Lean Calgary
