Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 4/11/22

Sports Bet Picks for 4/11/22

MIL (-164) at BAL (138)

Pick: Bet $10 MIL

Notes: Milwaukee’s opening series did not go as planned. They lost 2 of 3 to the Cubs – salvaging the final game of the series with a 5-4 win yesterday.

The Orioles got swept by the Rays in their opening series – being outscored 15-4.

Adrian Houser will get the start for the Brewers today. He had a pretty damn good 2021 season and gets a winnable opportunity against the meager Baltimore offense.

And perhaps the Brewers’ offense will get a chance to put up some runs against a very hittable Bruce Zimmermann.

I was down on the Brewers heading into the season and so far, they have met those expectations.

If they lose this series, I’m not saying panic button time. But hover over the panic button for sure.

$10 bet on the Brewers.

COL (118) at TEX (-138)

Pick: Bet $10 COL

Notes: Maxy’s Rockies put a beatdown on the Dodgers this opening weekend. But that was in Colorado. Even at their worst, they have been a dangerous team at home over the years.

Now they hit the road to Texas to take on a Rangers team that had a tough draw with the Blue Jays in their first series.

They managed to salvage the series with a 12-6 win yesterday.

In fact, the Texas offense was pretty damn good this weekend – putting up 6 homers and 23 runs scored.

That said, their pitching was fucking awful.

Taylor Hearn had a decent year last season but has dealt with injuries over his short career. He’s not the guy you want out there to break out of a pitching slump.

I think there is value on the Rockies offense to get to him today and Colorado getting their first road win of the season.

$10 bet on the Rockies.

TOR (-104) at NYY (-112)

Pick: Bet $10 TOR

Notes: These two AL East teams started off the year winning 2 of 3 in their first series – dropping the finales in their respective series yesterday.

For New York, it must have felt good being able to match up with the Red Sox.

The rivalry is nowhere near where it used to be but seeing the progress the Sox made last year and their more aggressive offseason moves must have motivated the Yankees to show that they still matter.

The Blue Jays look to be the team to beat in the AL East and possibly the league. They will put young pitching phenom Alek Manoah on the mound today.

Manoah was sensational last season and for a stretch, was literally unhittable.

He will be tested against a potentially potent New York lineup playing in their little league park.

Yet it’s the Blue Jays’ offense that has looked dominant so far. Granted, that was against the aforementioned shitty Texas pitching staff.

But still. Batting .283 with 7 homers and 20 runs is pretty good.

I like their bats to get to Taillon today. He’s a decent enough pitcher but definitely vulnerable against a lineup like Toronto’s.

$10 bet on the Blue Jays.

SD (128) at SF (-152)

Pick: Bet $10 SD

Notes: The Padres bounced back from their opening loss to the D-Backs by winning 3 in a row.

The Giants won 2 of 3 from Miami but they could have lost all 3.

The Giants’ offense was dreadful. And not part of the credit goes to the some very good Miami pitching.

But putting up only 10 runs with a +1 run differential against Miami is not an ideal way to kick off a season.

One of Panther’s favorite pitchers, Alex Wood, gets the start for the Giants today. He had a hell of a season and was a huge part of why San Francisco won some games last year.

Nick Martinez will get the start for the Padres. With the trade of Paddack and the injury to Clevinger, Martinez will get a few rounds as the #5 starter for the Padres.

Martinez last played in the majors in 2017 as a starter for Texas. Over the last 4 seasons in Japan, he increased his velocity and mastered a few new pitches.

That puts him as a bit of a wildcard for the Padres.

The MLB hitters will be a lot stronger competition than the Japanese league. But the way the Giants are hitting right now, maybe it will be comparable.

I like the Padres here with this plus line.

$10 bet on San Diego.

CLE (-106) at KC (-110)

Pick: Lean KC

PIT (168) at STL (-200)

Pick: Lean STL

BOS (-122) at DET (104)

Pick: Lean BOS

OAK (180) at TB (-215)

Pick: Lean TB

NYM (130) at PHI (-154)

Pick: Lean PHI

WSH (-106) at ATL (-110)

Pick: Lean ATL

SEA (114) at MIN (-134)

Pick: Lean SEA

MIA (128) at LAA (-152)

Pick: Lean LAA

Winnipeg Jets (-146) at Montreal Canadiens (122)

Pick: Lean Winnipeg

Notes: The Jets have been playing some awful hockey as of late.

Montreal, for as their season has gone, has actually played pretty good lately. The Canadiens beat the Devils and the Lightning over the last week and a half.

Their offense has not been too shabby and they could be in the middle of one of these bad team offensive surges that we’ve seen with Arizona, Ottawa and Buffalo.

I think Winnipeg should win this game but I am off of it.

The money is on the Jets but the line is getting better for them.

I would not be shocked if the Canadiens win this one but the plus line is too low for me to bite.

Lean on the Jets.
