Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 4/25/22
BOS (1) at BKN (-1)
Pick: Lean BOS
Total: 220 (Lean Over – 230)
Predicted Score: BOS 118 – BKN 112
Notes: The series has been a bit up and down for each team but in the end, Boston has won all 3 games.
The Celtics’ defense has done a very good job of containing Kyrie and KD the past two games.
And the Nets won’t be getting Ben Simmons back today. Not that I think it would have made a huge difference.
Kyrie went on about this team not being able to gel all season. So forcing Simmons into a must-win game probably would not have helped that out.
Hard to imagine the Nets being swept here but I have Boston winning.
Leaning the Celtics.
TOR (7.5) at PHI (-7.5)
Pick: Bet $15 PHI ML
Total: 210 (Lean Over – 218)
Predicted Score: TOR 103 – PHI 115
Notes: Joel Embiid apparently will need thumb surgery after the season. When the “after the season” will be for him is uncertain.
It does seem like Philly is poised to close out their series tonight and move on to next round – which seems to be a date with former Sixer – Jimmy Butler – and his Miami Heat.
Toronto avoided being swept on their home floor but as the series shifts to Philly, it should be the end of the road for the Raptors.
$15 moneyline net on the Sixers.
UTA (3.5) at DAL (-3.5)
Pick: Lean UTA
Total: 213 (Lean Under – 212)
Predicted Score: UTA 107 – DAL 105
Notes: The Jazz tied the series in game 4 with a lass second alley-oop dunk by Rudy Gobert.
In some kind of ironic twist, it was Donovan Mitchell who tossed the Frenchman the pass to throw down the winning dunk.
Luka returned in game 4 and looked really good. He could push Dallas to a series win.
My problem here is that this one is too close for me to call. With the points, I’d take the Jazz but with moneyline plays, I’ll just stay off this one.
Lean the Jazz.
Philadelphia Flyers (116) at Chicago Blackhawks (-140)
Pick: Bet $10 Chicago
Notes: The Flyers have won two in a row to break a 6-game losing streak.
They had won 2 in a row 6 times this season but have only won 3 in a row only once.
The Blackhawks return home after a 3-game road trip in which they went 1-2.
Chicago is 2-12 over their last 14 games.
Not a huge vote of confidence to bet on them so this is more a fade of the Flyers winning 3 in a row.
$10 bet on the Blackhawks.
BOS (116) at TOR (-134)
Pick: Bet $10 BOS
Notes: Never really expected that Nathan Eovaldi would be the better of the two pitchers when Jose Berrios was on the other side – but lo and behold, it has happened.
The Twins apparently saw Berrios’ decline and got some assets for him while Toronto is stuck to where to place the former ace in the rotation.
These teams played a series in Boston just last week – with the Blue Jays winning 2 of 3.
I expect more of the same in this series – unless the Red Sox bats wake up – but maybe this is the game Boston grabs.
I won’t chase waterfalls in this series if I lose today.
$10 bet on Boston.
LAD (-196) at ARI (164)
Pick: Bet $10 LAD
Notes: Similar to the last game, who would have thought Merrill Kelly would be the better of the two pitchers with Walker Buehler on the other side.
Kelly is having a tremendous start to the year and if he keeps this up, he will be one of the biggest trade pieces sent out before the deadline this year.
The D-Backs will need Kelly to pitch like that if their offense continues to be shit.
The Dodgers offense is clicking and they are winning games.
Could be a series sweep so at the line it is here, almost a value.
$10 bet on LA.
SF (152) at MIL (-180)
Pick: Lean SF
COL (164) at PHI (-198)
Pick: Lean COL
NYM (-148) at STL (126)
Pick: Lean NYM
HOU (-134) at TEX (114)
Pick: Lean TEX
CLE (-124) at LAA (106)
Pick: Lean LAA
