Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 4/26/22
NBA
ATL (7) at MIA (-7)
Pick: Bet $15 MIA ML
Total: 218 (Lean Under – 217)
Predicted Score: ATL 105 – MIA 112
Notes: Miami looks to bounce the Hawks from the playoffs and join the Celtics as the only teams who have advanced to the next round.
And I get the feeling that will happen.
Atlanta has struggled on the road all season and Miami has been an unbelievable home team ever since Jimmy Butler joined the team.
Kyle Lowry appears to be out for this one for Miami but while he will be critical in later rounds, he should be able to rest today and not have to worry.
It’s chalky so will up the ante a bit.
$15 moneyline bet on the Heat.
MIN (6.5) at MEM (-6.5)
Pick: Lean MEM
Total: 233 (Lean Under – 232)
Predicted Score: MIN 115 – MEM 117
Notes: This has been an interesting series so far. At times, the T-Wolves look like they can matchup with Memphis.
At other times, they look completely overmatched.
Minnesota took game 1 in Memphis and its hard to imagine they can grab another.
Ja Morant just won Most Improved Player. That’s not because he was bad last year. It’s just a testament to the jump he made this year to become a future superstar.
He should have a big game today and the Grizzlies should get the win.
But its too close for me to bet.
Lean on Minnesota with the points.
NOP (6) at PHX (-6)
Pick: Lean NOP
Total: 215 (Lean Over – 222)
Predicted Score: NOP 112 – PHX 110
Notes: Devin Booker will be out once again and Phoenix needs to hope that their homecourt advantage is enough to keep them from getting bounced out of the playoffs.
The Pelicans managed to grab game 2 in Phoenix so it could be possible they grab another.
Without Booker, the Suns could not keep up with the offensive output from Ingram, McCollum and Valanciunas.
Chris Paul did have 11 assists. To go with his 4 points.
4 fucking points. And he wonders why there is a narrative about him not being able to win in the playoffs.
I like Chris Paul but performances like that won’t be enough against a scrappy team like New Orleans.
I can’t quite bet it – but a big lean on the Pelicans.
NHL
Edmonton Oilers (126) at Pittsburgh Penguins (-152)
Pick: Bet $10 Edmonton
Notes: Edmonton lost their last one – a surprise loss to the Blue Jackets in Columbus.
Now they continue their road trip to Pittsburgh against a Penguins team that has not been super consistent down the stretch.
Edmonton had been on a hot stretch prior to that last loss and with the plus line here, hard not to like them to nab a road win against a Penguins team that is more about resting than winning games before the playoffs.
$10 bet on the Oilers.
Leans
St. Louis Blues (140) at Colorado Avalanche (-170)
Pick: Lean St. Louis.
Notes: I almost bet the Blues here but it just seems impossible that Colorado will lose 5 in a row.
Detroit Red Wings (385) at Toronto Maple Leafs (-520)
Pick: Lean Toronto
New Jersey Devils (120) at Ottawa Senators (-144)
Pick: Lean New Jersey
Florida Panthers (-126) at Boston Bruins (105)
Pick: Lean Florida
Carolina Hurricanes (-110) at New York Rangers (-110)
Pick: Lean Carolina
Columbus Blue Jackets (315) at Tampa Bay Lightning (-410)
Pick: Lean Tampa
New York Islanders (158) at Washington Capitals (-192)
Pick: Lean Washington
Calgary Flames (-137) at Nashville Predators (114)
Pick: Lean Calgary
Arizona Coyotes (470) at Minnesota Wild (-670)
Pick: Lean Minnesota
Vegas Golden Knights (-105) at Dallas Stars (-114)
Pick: Lean Vegas
Seattle Kraken (188) at Vancouver Canucks (-225)
Pick: Lean Vancouver
Anaheim Ducks (122) at San Jose Sharks (-146)
Pick: Lean San Jose
MLB
SD (-178) at CIN (150)
Pick: Bet $10 SD
Notes: The Reds scratched out a series finale win over the Cardinals and that could be their win total for the remainder of the month.
San Diego will put Joe Musgrove on the mound and he’s looked really good to start this season.
The Padres will be happy to face off against a shitty offense like the Reds as opposed to dealing with the Dodgers.
I like San Diego to come out strong today and grab the road win.
$10 bet on the Padres.
MIA (-136) at WSH (116)
Pick: Bet $10 MIA
Notes: I thought the Nats would be bad but definitely not as bad as they have been so far this season.
Losers of 5 in a row, this team is competing with the Reds for the worst run differential in the league.
Miami, on the other hand, have won 3 of 5 games – including grabbing a series win over the Braves.
Sandy Alcantara will face off against Josiah Gray. And while Gray hasn’t been too bad his last couple of outings – the edge here definitely goes to Miami.
And ultimately the Marlins should grab the win.
$10 bet on Miami.
BOS (168) at TOR (-200)
Pick: Bet $10 BOS
Notes: I said yesterday that if Boston didn’t hit that I would not go chasing waterfalls in this series. Well, aren’t I a fucking liar?
Maybe I am just terrible at reading the Red Sox as an organization.
The years I hate them, they win. The years I think they should be good, they underperform.
And I keep waiting on their offense to get to where I think it should be.
But it hasn’t.
Toronto is the better team this season but with this big plus line, this will be my absolute last stand in this series.
$10 bet on Boston.
CHC (144) at ATL (-172)
Pick: Bet $10 CHC
Notes: The Braves are another team that has started slowly but I expect to get better at some point.
After losing a series to the Marlins, they look to rebound against a Cubs team that has lost 4 of 5.
Still, they have a pretty good record overall and are 3-3 on the road this season.
And after putting up 21 runs against the Pirates the other day, we know their bats don’t completely suck.
Marcus Stroman is familiar with the Braves lineup from his time with the Mets.
He is not off to a good start to the season but I think he will have a good outing today.
Max Fried has looked solid his last two outings but the bullpen after him has not looked great.
I think the value is on the Cubs here to get to that pen.
$10 bet on Chicago.
CLE (136) at LAA (-162)
Pick: Bet $10 CLE
Notes: Pretty good pitching matchup as Tristen McKenzie takes the bump against Patrick Sandoval.
The Guardians will look to break a 4-game losing streak after losing to the Angels yesterday.
The early season offense from Cleveland has dissipated.
For Anaheim, it seems like their offense centers around the big hits. Their 3 runs yesterday came on 2 homeruns.
The game before that it was a grand slam that made the difference.
So if Cleveland can avoid giving up the big hits today, they should have a chance.
Value play on the Guardians here.
$10 bet on Cleveland.
LAD (-198) at ARI (166)
Pick: Bet $10 LAD
Notes: I hit on LA yesterday and no reason not to jump on them again today.
Ton Gonsolin has been very good to start the year.
The same cannot be said for former Brewer/Padre/Cub Zach Davies.
The Dodgers should get the win again today.
$10 bet on LA.
