Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 4/27/22
NBA
CHI (12) at MIL (-12)
Pick: Lean CHI
Total: 217.5 (Lean Under – 202)
Predicted Score: CHI 97 – MIL 105
Notes: The Bucks did not show up for one game in this series and it happened to be their second home game where the Bulls beat them 114-110.
The other 3 games in this series have been lopsided and representative of the differences between these two teams.
The Bucks would like to end this series today and get their plans in order for a tough series with the Celtics.
The Bucks sat out the final game of the season to avoid a date with the Nets in the first round.
It seems to have paid off as Chicago has not been much competition.
But giving up home court to the Celtics in the next round could end up biting them.
Still, this is the defending champs with the best player in the world leading the way.
Hard to see Giannis and crew losing this one.
Despite the one-sided nature of these games, my metrics have the Bulls keeping it to within 10.
A lean on Chicago with the points.
DEN (9) at GSW (-9)
Pick: Lean GSW
Total: 226.5 (Lean Over – 233)
Predicted Score: DEN 110 – GSW 123
Notes: I thought there would be a sweep in this series but we have found out that the Warriors, unlike the Celtics, are in fact gentlemen.
The series will end today.
Denver put up a solid effort in their last game but going on the road, in San Francisco where the Warriors were 31-10 this season, is not going to turn out well for the Nuggets.
I could bet the Warriors to cover the points here. It would go against my system.
So just a lean on the Warriors moneyline and a lean on the Warriors covering the spread.
NHL
Los Angeles Kings (-188) at Seattle Kraken (155)
Pick: Bet $10 Los Angeles
Notes: The Kings have won 4 games in a row and are still playing for playoff seeding.
The Kings will indeed make the playoffs this season. The same cannot be said for the Kraken.
Seattle has been out of the playoff picture for a while.
One could argue since the opening day faceoff.
They’ve lost 3 in a row and return home where the Climate Pledge Arena has not been kind to them this season.
Seattle is 15-21-3 there this year and after this one, may as well toss in another loss.
$10 bet on the Kings.
Leans
Philadelphia Flyers (168) at Winnipeg Jets (-205)
Pick: Lean Winnipeg
Montreal Canadiens (315) at New York Rangers (-410)
Pick: Lean New York
Vegas Golden Knights (-220) at Chicago Blackhawks (180)
Pick: Lean Vegas
Arizona Coyotes (400) at Dallas Stars (-550)
Pick: Lean Dallas
MLB
KC (150) at CWS (-178)
Pick: Bet $10 CWS
Notes: Zack Greinke has enjoyed his return to KC so far. I mean, other than the whole losing thing.
Greinke had spent his past few seasons mostly pitching for contenders.
He might get that chance again at the trade deadline if he keeps throwing like he has so far this year.
The White Sox have lost 8 in a row and got shutout yesterday by the Royals.
I don’t predict more of the same today. White Sox should bounce back.
$10 bet on the White Sox.
MIA (-144) at WSH (122)
Pick: Bet $10 MIA
Notes: I hit on Miami yesterday and I’ll double dip today.
The Reds are a terrible team. We know that.
But if not for them, we’d be talking about Washington.
In fact, at least the Reds managed to put up some runs yesterday and close the gap between them and the Nats in run differential.
The Nats may have double the amount of wins that the Reds have but after losing 6 in a row, Washington looks like worse team at the moment.
Pablo Lopez is off to a great start this year and the Marlins find themselves as a .500 team.
Their offense leaves a lot to be desired but can produce at times.
Fedde is coming off a dreadful outing against the Diamondbacks and he should help the Fish put up some runs today.
$10 bet on Miami.
CLE (176) at LAA (-210)
Pick: Bet $10 CLE
Notes: Shohei Otani has not looked like the MVP he was last season but his last start gave the Angels some hope he will bounce back to last season form.
Otani rebounded from a poor outing against the Rangers to blank the Astros for 6 innings.
He will get a chance to shine against a fading Guardians offense that only has 8 scored runs over their last 5 games.
The Angels almost matched that in one game against the Orioles over the weekend.
Anaheim will aim for the sweep today but Zach Plesac will look to avoid that.
And with this plus line, I think there is some value in backing him and the Guardians today.
$10 bet on Cleveland.
