Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 4/29/22
MEM (-1.5) at MIN (1.5)
Pick: Bet $10 MEM ML
Total: 229 (Lean Under – 221)
Predicted Score: MEM 113 – MIN 108
Notes: Yesterday, three series closed out and only one round 1 series remains. Will the T-Wolves be the only team to push a series to 7?
Minnesota has hung in this series and in many ways, probably should have won it.
They’ve won 2 games and had big leads in two others.
You could argue that it was Minnesota choking or taking their foot off the pedal.
Or you could say that Memphis has no quit and can claw from behind.
I’d say a little from column A and a little for column B.
The T-Wolves won game 4 at home. By a point.
So maybe they keep this one close but I think the result will be different.
$10 moneyline bet on the Grizzlies.
Boston Bruins (105) at Toronto Maple Leafs (-126)
Pick: Bet $10 Boston
Notes: Boston still has a chance to move the playoff seeding around. If they can win today and see some losses by New York and Tampa, the Bruins could end up hosting a playoff series in round 1.
The Maple Leafs just want to stay healthy – so they really have nothing to play for in this one.
The Bruins have won 4 in a row and are finally seeing their offense click.
This is a deep team with a lot of offensive talent. If they can maintain this pace, they’ll be a tough out in the playoffs.
I like them to close out the season with a win and put pressure on some other teams to have to play hard and win today too.
$10 bet on Boston.
Columbus Blue Jackets (315) at Pittsburgh Penguins (-410)
Pick: Lean Pittsburgh
Ottawa Senators (106) at Philadelphia Flyers (-128)
Pick: Lean Ottawa
Chicago Blackhawks (114) at Buffalo Sabres (-137)
Pick: Lean Buffalo
Detroit Red Wings (134) at New Jersey Devils (-162)
Pick: Lean New Jersey
Washington Capitals (-106) at New York Rangers (-113)
Pick: Lean Washington
Florida Panthers (-285) at Montreal Canadiens (230)
Pick: Lean Florida
Tampa Bay Lightning (-196) at New York Islanders (162)
Pick: Lean Tampa
Colorado Avalanche (-134) at Minnesota Wild (112)
Pick: Lean Colorado
Vegas Golden Knights (152) at St. Louis Blues (-184)
Pick: Lean St. Louis
Calgary Flames (-194) at Winnipeg Jets (160)
Pick: Lean Calgary
Anaheim Ducks (205) at Dallas Stars (-255)
Pick: Lean Anaheim
Vancouver Canucks (164) at Edmonton Oilers (-200)
Pick: Lean Edmonton
San Jose Sharks (106) at Seattle Kraken (-128)
Pick: Lean San Jose
Nashville Predators (-300) at Arizona Coyotes (240)
Pick: Lean Nashville
HOU (102) at TOR (-120)
Pick: Bet $10 HOU
Notes: The Astros won yesterday – avoiding the curse of the KOD.
It was their 3rd win in a row but, I mean, it was the fucking Rangers.
Now they head to Toronto to take on a real team.
The Blue Jays are coming off a series win over the Red Sox – winning a 1-0 game yesterday to close it out.
Not a great pitching matchup here as Urquidy and Kikuchi are off to rough starts of the season.
History tells me that Urquidy should bounce back whereas Kikuchi is possibly overperforming based on his previous seasons.
The Astros’ offense still has not picked up yet but I think they have a chance to put up some runs today.
$10 bet on Houston.
MIN (118) at TB (-138)
Pick: Bet $10 TB
Notes: Maybe we buried the Twins a little too soon. After winning 7 in a row, they are indeed atop the AL Central right now.
And look at the season Dylan Bundy has put forth so far.
3-0 with a 0.59 ERA and a 0.72 WHIP.
Not too bad.
Corey Kluber has not found that kind of success in Tampa.
Still, Tampa appears to be turning a corner too and winning some tough games and series.
It was a travel day for the Twins yesterday while Tampa got to stay home and get ready for this one.
And I think they win it.
$10 bet on the Rays.
Max’s Lock of the Day.
ATL (-146) at TEX (124)
Pick: Bet $10 ATL
Notes: The Braves are 9-11 on the season and 3-4 on the road. Their starter today, Ian Anderson, has an ERA almost double the opposing pitcher.
Still, I am betting Atlanta today.
This is less a vote of confidence in them as it is an indication of how bad the Rangers are.
They aren’t Reds or Nationals bad.
But still bad.
At some point the Braves’ offense will get warmed up and remind the Mets that no lead in the NL East is big enough.
Maybe they start that today with a beatdown on Texas.
$10 bet on the Braves.
