Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 5/10/22
PHI (3) at MIA (-3)
Pick: Lean PHI
Total: 209.5 (Lean Under – 208)
Predicted Score: PHI 103 – MIA 105
Notes: The return of Joel Embiid to this series has allowed Philly to even things up.
Shit, there was even a James Harden sighting in game 4.
In the playoffs.
The series shifts back to Miami for game 5 and the Heat look to flex their homecourt advantage.
Miami was 29-12 at home this season and pushed for the top seed because they knew it would be a significant advantage.
I do think the Heat grab the win but damn do I have this close.
Lean on Philly with the points.
DAL (6) at PHX (-6)
Pick: Bet $10 PHX ML
Total: 213.5 (Lean Over – 220)
Predicted Score: DAL 107 – PHX 113
Notes: Luka tied this series by winning game 4.
The win was kind of marred as some 15-year-old Dallas fan tried to hug Chris Paul’s family and Paul didn’t like that too much.
We’re going back to Phoenix where the Suns dominated at home this year – posting a 32-9 record.
Lost in the Chris Paul drama is the fact he played like garbage out there the last game.
Devin Booker made up for it but if they want to win this game, win this series and win a title – Paul has to be at the top of his game.
I think we see more of that tonight.
$10 moneyline bet on the Suns.
St. Louis Blues (116) at Minnesota Wild (-140)
Pick: Bet $10 Minnesota
Notes: The Blues won game 4 and evened the series as it shifts back to Minnesota for game 5 tonight.
Home ice has not mattered in this series as each team split their 2 home games.
But the Wild are a dominating home team – so losing 1 already in this series does decrease the chances of it happening again.
We know the Blues are a damn good team though – and capable of putting up some big offense.
So I do expect this to be a high-scoring game but ultimately the Wild will sneak out the win.
$10 bet on Minnesota.
Boston Bruins (120) at Carolina Hurricanes (-144)
Pick: Lean Boston
Tampa Bay Lightning (108) at Toronto Maple Leafs (-130)
Pick: Lean Toronto
Los Angeles Kings (188) at Edmonton Oilers (-230)
Pick: Lean Edmonton
KC (120) at TEX (-142)
Pick: Bet $10 KC
Notes: Great pitching matchup is a rare thing to say when the two teams involved are the Royals and Rangers.
But here we are today.
Brad Keller is off to a really good start to the season and the way the seasons is going for the Red Sox, they probably wish they didn’t let Martin Perez go back to the Rangers.
Each team is coming off a series loss to an AL East team.
With a pair of losses to the Orioles, the Royals’ road record is a dismal 3-8.
The Rangers’ 4-9 home record isn’t that much better, though.
Texas has some pop in their bats so if they can get a lead in this one, they should be able to win it.
However, I just like the way Keller is pitching and I think he puts the Royals in a great position to win this one.
The value is on KC.
$10 bet on the Royals.
TB (-116) at LAA (-102)
Pick: Bet $10 TB
Notes: The Angels’ took it to the Rays yesterday.
Ohtani hit a grand slam and added another homerun to the homer leading Angels.
The Angels have become less dependent on the homerun to score runs but they still hit a lot of them.
I think that offensive outburst is muted a bit more today with Kluber on the mound.
He’s off to a pretty good start to the season and has been a great anchor for the Rays’ rotation.
For Anaheim, Detmers is definitely hittable and I think this is a winnable game for the Rays.
So a $10 bet on Tampa.
PHI (-122) at SEA (104)
Pick: Bet $10 PHI
Notes: I’m a little worried about this one because the Phillies won yesterday but they are looking like the play again today.
Nola will take on Robbie Ray in a pretty decent pitching matchup.
Hard to imagine the Phillies putting up 9 runs like they did yesterday, but we know that, on paper, they are capable of such offense.
The Phillies are not the best of road teams but the Mariners are just not playing very good baseball right now and are definitely beatable.
$10 bet on the Phillies.

LAD (-230) at PIT (190)

MIL (-198) at CIN (166)
