Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 5/11/22
MIL (5.5) at BOS (-5.5)
Pick: Lean MIL
Total: 214.5 (Bet $10 Under – 198)
Predicted Score: MIL 97 – BOS 101
Notes: Not sure what else to say about this series other than it’s been fun to watch.
I’ve been watching the past two games literally on the edge of my seat and its probably taken a few years off my life.
But who wants those later years anyway.
The Celtics have found a way to just outlast Milwaukee in the 4th quarter.
I think a lot of that has to do with depth.
Milwaukee cannot afford to have Giannis rest for long stretches of the game while the Celtics have been able to rotate fresh players in as needed.
Part of that has to do with foul trouble.
I do wonder if the refs are a little more Boston friendly in this one.
I think this will be another fun, close game.
I have the C’s winning but definitely not covering this amount.
A lean on Milwaukee.
Where I will place my bet is on the under here.
I think Boston has done well to keep the scores lower and I would not be surprised if this was a low 100s game.
$10 bet on the under.
GSW (-4) at MEM (4)
Pick: Lean MEM
Total: 218.5 (Lean Under – 220)
Predicted Score: GSW 111 – MEM 109
Notes: Memphis held their own in the last game but still find themselves on the brink of elimination.
The Grizzlies will be once again without Ja Morant.
And while that is an insanely tough blow to this offense, the Grizzlies have found a great lineup that balances out their offensive attack and could be more effective against the Warriors’ defense.
That said – the Warriors did not play a great game last time out and I expect them to be much better today.
Golden State should close out the series tonight but shit do I have this close.
A lean on Memphis.
Pittsburgh Penguins (114) at New York Rangers (-137)
Pick: Lean New York
Notes: Shesterkin hasn’t looked right since that game 1, triple OT game.
I have the Rangers winning this one but cannot get to the implied probability.
Washington Capitals (190) at Florida Panthers (-235)
Pick: Lean Florida
Notes: I have bet Florida a few times in this series.
I finally hit on them in the last game but its too chalky for me now.
Dallas Stars (190) at Calgary Flames (-235)
Pick: Lean Calgary
Notes: Each team has scored 7 goals through 4 games.
Hard not to say the value is with Dallas here with the big plus line but I have the Flames winning 62% of the time here as the series shifts back to Calgary.
MIL (-194) at CIN (162)
Pick: Bet $10 MIL
Notes: I bet on the Brewers in game 1 and of course they lost.
I have a terrible read on this team.
They bounced back yesterday with a 5-4 win and I expect them to win again today.
While the Brewers are not a very good road hitting team, Vladimir Gutierrez is extremely hittable and should give the Milwaukee bats a chance to break out.
$10 bet on the Brewers.
TOR (128) at NYY (-152)
Pick: Bet $10 NYY
Notes: I was touting how well Jose Berrios was doing this season when he decided to get blasted by the fucking Guardians in his last outing.
Now he gets to take on the Yankees in their little league park and face off against Jameson Taillon who is off to a great start to his season.
The Yankees are 13-4 at home this year and the Blue Jays have struggled to find a way to win on the road consistently.
It’s an issue that will haunt them if they want to win the AL East or, more importantly, the World Series.
And for today, it will haunt them too.
$10 bet on the Yankees.
TB (102) at LAA (-120)
Pick: Bet $10 LAA
Notes: So yesterday I said a few foolish things that I would like to acknowledge.
For one, I said I didn’t think the Angels would put up 11 runs again against the Rays.
Technically, I was correct. They put up 12.
And then I went on about how Kluber was a better starter than Detmers.
I also believe someone else on the show took a steaming dump on Detmers as well.
I shall protect the innocent and not mention any guru, brain, logo names.
Detmers went on to pitch a no hitter yesterday.
And now the Angels put Ohtani on the mound today to face off against the Rays’ ace – Shane McClanahan.
Statistically, these guys are pretty much the same. Only, you know, Ohtani has 6 homeruns and 21 RBI this year.
I’m on the Angels here today.
$10 bet on Anaheim.
