Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 5/27/22
MIA (8.5) at BOS (-8.5)
Pick: Lean MIA
Total: 201 (Lean Under – 198)
Predicted Score: MIA 95 – BOS 103
Notes: The Warriors punched their ticket into the Finals and now Boston will try to do the same.
I want to say that Miami won’t roll over and let the Celtics just walk right into the Finals but injuries might just force them to do so.
The every other night games has been great from a fan perspective but for the players, it must suck.
There is really no time to recover and even though travel is only a few hours, its still a factor.
Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, PJ Tucker, Kyle Lowry and Tyler Herro appear to want to play today.
But Herro has missed the last two games and the other guys really do look hampered by injuries out there.
And let’s not forget Jimmy Butler’s knee.
I think Boston should win this one.
The only thing getting in their way is themselves.
The 8.5 seems like a tad but too much but using the logic I used on betting the Warriors yesterday, maybe its not.
Still, a lean on Miami.
Colorado Avalanche (-166) at St. Louis Blues (138)
Pick: Bet $10 St. Louis
Notes: The Oilers closed out their series against the Flames and now await their opponent for the Western Conference Finals.
It seemed like Colorado was the likely date for them but after coughing up a lead at home in the last game, there will be at least one more game to decide this series.
And my thought is there will still be another game needed.
Yeah, I know, I buried the fucking Blues when they went down 3-1 in this series.
Yeah, I know, I said that without Jordan Binnington this team was done fore.
Yeah, I know, I bet against them in the last game.
But here’s my apology to them.
$10 bet on the Blues to push this series to 7.
NYY (108) at TB (-126)
Pick: Bet $10 TB
Notes: Jeffrey Springs has blossomed as the de facto ace for the Rays this season.
No longer having names like Snell and Morton, this Rays team has tried to stay competitive with their youth and Springs definitely gives them hope for the future.
The Yankees will counter with Jameson Taillon who is having a damn good season himself.
New York grabbed the win in the series yesterday with their offense.
Power-wise, there is no comparison that the Yankees are much more dominant than the Rays.
But overall hitting, the Rays can hold their own.
If Springs keeps this score lower, the Rays have a great chance to win today.
$10 bet on Tampa.
HOU (-188) at SEA (158)
Pick: Bet $10 SEA
Notes: The season is still early but Justin Verlander has to be the leading candidate for comeback player of the year.
And if he keeps pitching the way he has, maybe even Cy Young too.
He’s 6-1 with a 1.22 ERA and a 0.72 WHIP.
Not too shabby.
Chris Flexen, on the other hand, has not been very good.
His record is the inverse of Verlander’s, his WHIP is doubled and his ERA is over 3 times higher.
The Mariners just lost two of three to the lowly A’s and have only 1 win over their last 5.
Yet, I see value in taking a shot on them today.
$10 bet on the Mariners.
