Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 5/28/22
NHL
Carolina Hurricanes (-114) at New York Rangers (-105)
Pick: Bet $10 New York
Notes: The Hurricanes have yet to win on the road this postseason.
After going 7 with the Bruins in the first round, they probably end up going 7 in this round too.
Shesterkin is the best goalie in hockey and seems to elevate even more when he’s at home.
The Hurricanes have benefited from some depth – guys like Sebastian Aho, Tony DeAngelo and Vincent Trocheck have been all chipping in.
The Rangers’ offense might be one of the most inconsistent offenses of the playoff teams but when they are clicking, they are as good as most.
I think they click today.
$10 bet on New York.
MLB
COL (-104) at WSH (-112) – Game 1
Pick: Bet $10 COL
Notes: Let’s focus on game 1 of the Colorado / Washington games today.
I usually don’t bet on doubleheaders but I have found some success this year in doing so.
This is not a great series to bet on, in general, because Colorado sucks on the road and the Nationals suck at home.
Chad Kuhl has been inconsistent this season but when his accuracy is sharp, he’s actually been able to produce some solid outings.
I cannot say the same for Adon who does not go far into games and is good for multiple runs allowed.
Colorado’s batting average drops down to .233 on the road compared to a league leading .283 at home.
This is the inverse of Washington that is .216 at home and .286 on the road.
The Rockies also have the least amount of homeruns on the road for any team.
But that offense has a chance to breakout against Adon and the Nationals’ pitching staff.
$10 bet on Colorado.
KC (134) at MIN (-158)
Pick: Bet $10 KC
Notes: The Royals offense looked good yesterday but their pitching shit the bed.
Which seems like the issue with this team.
Both sides of the field tend not to be in sync and produce one solid game.
But I really like their starter today.
Brady Singer has produced two consecutive great starts and he puts the Royals in position to win today.
Just asking for their offense to give him some fucking support today.
$10 bet on KC.
MIA (100) at ATL (-118)
Pick: Bet $10 MIA
Notes: Stop me if you’ve heard this one.
The Marlins are a better team than their record says.
Arch, have you heard that before?
But for some reason, this team cannot win.
Their lone win over their last 5 games was a 4-3 win over the Braves.
The Marlins have just 18 wins on the season.
Sandy Alcantara has 4 of those as a starter.
That’s 22% of their wins.
His last win was that 4-3 win over the Braves where he allowed 0 earned runs in 9 innings.
I like him to produce once again today.
$10 bet on the Marlins.
