Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 6/10/22
GSW (4) at BOS (-4)
Pick: Lean BOS
Total: 214.5 (Lean Under – 213)
Predicted Score: GSW 104 – BOS 109
Notes: The big question after game 3 surrounded the health of Steph Curry.
It seems like he’ll be OK and ready for a must-win game 4.
Now, 3-1 in a finals is not necessarily a death knell.
Just ask the 2016 Warriors who came back from 3-1 in the Western Conference finals only to blow a 3-1 lead over the Cavs in the Finals.
But it is a situation Steph and crew will not want to find themselves in.
The only team that can beat Boston is themselves.
I do believe that.
I believed that in the Milwaukee series.
I believed it in the Heat series.
And I believe it now.
This team is capable of bad basketball and we just need to look to game 2 for that.
If they don’t turn the ball over, if they play defense and if they are aggressive in the interior I really believe the Celtics are the team to beat in the series.
My problem is that’s a lot of ifs and seeing Golden State at peak health losing tonight is unlikely.
My numbers say Boston so I will lean them here tonight.
ARI (118) at PHI (-138)
Notes: After firing Joe Girardi, the Phillies have rattled off 7 straight wins.
They aim for 8 in a row tonight as they face off against Zac Gallen and the road weary Diamondbacks.
Arizona has won 2 in a row after winning the final pair of games against the Reds but even with the major pitching advantage in this one, I like the Phillies.
Their lineup has been producing and after sweeping Milwaukee, this team looks incredibly dangerous.
As a Mets fan, I feel great seeing Philly and Atlanta winning so many games in row.
So great, I may as well make some money off it.
$10 bet on the Phillies.
MIL (-168) at WSH (142)
Pick: Bet $10 MIL
Notes: Speaking of Milwaukee, they will look to bounce back from that sweep by heading to DC to take on the Nats.
Washington just got swept by the Fish and now return home where their offense has been much worse this season.
The Nationals will put Erick Fedde on the mound today.
He’s been roughed up over his last two outings after a stretch of a few good games.
Milwaukee has some offensive issues of their own – seen in that Philly series where they scored 5 combined runs while giving up 21.
I think the Brewers have a chance to get their bats going today.
That said, I have not been great betting this team all season so be forewarned.
$10 bet on the Brewers.
OAK (140) at CLE (-166)
Pick: Bet $10 OAK
Notes: Oakland can’t lose them all, right?
They’ve lost 9 straight after their 8-4 loss yesterday to the Guardians but I get the feeling they can win one against Cleveland.
Today is their best shot with their ace Paul Blackburn on the mound.
Standing in his way is Triston McKenzie – who is having a pretty damn good year himself.
Still, I think there’s enough of a payout to take a shot with the A’s here today.
$10 bet on Oakland.
CIN (120) at STL (-142)
Pick: Bet $10 STL
Notes: I had a futures play on the Cardinals last season and saw them start off really slow before making a push at the end of the season.
I once again have a futures play on this team but it seems like maybe they won’t need to make a run late in the year.
It’s not specifically because of stellar play by them and a combo of good enough play + shitting the bed by the Brewers.
Either way, they are only a half game back of Milwaukee in the Central and have a chance to at least keep ground this weekend as they lost the Reds.
The Cardinals will look to bounce back after a 3-game sweep at the hands of Tampa while Cincinnati is looking to grab a win after a pair of losses to the D-Backs.
Cincy will put Luis Castillo on the mound as he continues to audition for a spot in the Mets’ rotation.
Andre Pallante will get the open for the Cardinals today.
Don’t know how many innings he will pitch but he’s been pretty effective in the ones he has this season.
I like him to keep things close and hand over the bullpen to finalize the win.
$10 bet on St. Louis.
