Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 6/17/22
MLB
ATL (-172) at CHC (144)
Pick: Bet $10 CHC
Notes: Keegan Thompson has found ways to win games this season.
He’s 6-2 with a 3.67 ERA and 1.24 WHIP.
Markedly better than Old Man Morton this season.
Charlie could still turn things around and be an important aspect to this Braves team later in the season.
For now, he’s a bit of a liability.
So seeing Chicago, at home, with a big plus line and the better pitcher is certainly tempting to break Atlanta’s 14-game winning streak and the Cubs’ 10-game losing streak.
Lottery ticket here.
$10 bet on Chicago.
TB (-154) at BAL (130)
Pick: Bet $10 TB
Notes: Well, I hit on Baltimore for a good value play yesterday and time to fade them today.
Sure, I bet they do grab one from Tampa in this series but today is not that day.
Fresh off their sweep at the hands of the Yankees, the Rays will toss Shane Baz out there today to face off against Dean Kremer.
Neither guy has many innings under his respective belt this year but Baz is one of the top Rays’ prospects and looks to start something special with Shane McClanahan for years to come.
That starts today – since he was not very special in his debut.
Sure, he will be on a pitch count but I think he gets some solid innings against a Baltimore team that ranks 25th in home batting average.
$10 bet on the Rays.
STL (102) at BOS (-120)
Pick: Bet $10 BOS
Notes: I missed on Boston yesterday.
Sorry, Degen parlay.
So let’s look at them again today.
The Cardinals will put my favorite pitcher out there today as Adam Wainwright continues his improbable career in effective fashion.
The Red Sox will counter with Michael Wacha Wacha.
Wacha is 4-1 and has a 2.33 ERA and 1.00 WHIP.
He’s coming off a shakier start but went 9 innings with a shutout right before that.
The Cardinals were off yesterday after winning 3 of 4 from the Pirates.
The Red Sox have been one of the more bettable teams the past few weeks for me and I won’t be turned away based on them killing me yesterday.
$10 bet on Boston.
