Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 6/20/22
Colorado Avalanche (-110) at Tampa Bay Lightning (-110)
Pick: Lean Colorado
Notes: As the series shifts to Tampa, the sportsbooks have decided to play this one close to the vest and avoid being exposed too much on either side.
And I completely understand.
All season long, the Avalanche have been the team to beat.
But they are also playing a team that is battle tested and has knows what it takes to win the cup.
Still, game 2 was a reminder about how dominating the Avalanche can be when they are firing on all cylinders.
Their offense is too much for Tampa keep up with so Tampa’s way of winning is to keep scoring low.
Through two games, the Tampa defense has played well for about 1.5 periods.
So I do think Colorado is the play today.
But much like the books, I’m going to play it safe.
A lean on the Avalanche.
NYY (-130) at TB (110)
Pick: Bet $10 TB
Notes: The Yankees lost yesterday for the first time since June 9th.
Now I am banking on them losing two in a row for only the 4th time this season.
The last time they lost two in a row?
Against the Rays.
The last starter in that series for Tampa?
McClanahan has not been unbeatable against the Yankees.
Trust me. I know.
Just last week Nestor Cortes got the better of him as the Yankees swept the Rays.
But today McClanahan matches up against the Yankees’ 4th best starter.
Some guy named Gerritt Cole.
I think the Rays have some value at home today with a plus line.
$10 bet on the Rays.
SF (134) at ATL (-158)
Pick: Bet $10 ATL
Notes: The Braves bounced back yesterday after a pair of losses to the Cubs.
With the win, they now sit 5.5 games back of the Mets.
Between their hot play and the Phillies’ hot play, the NL East is starting to look like one of the most interesting divisions to watch heading into the All Star break in about a month.
The Braves will host the Giants today – a team that is vying in a competitive division themselves.
San Francisco lost to the Pirates yesterday and will look to avoid losing two in a row as they put Logan Webb on the mound to help secure a win.
Webb is 6-2 on the season and is coming off his best game of the season.
The Braves will counter with their ace Max Fried – who is having a great year himself.
Atlanta’s offense has backed him up – especially at home.
They rank second in homeruns at home this year trailing only the Yankees.
I think they knock out a few more today and grab the win.
$10 bet on Atlanta.

TOR (-134) at CWS (114)
