Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 6/22/22
NHL
Colorado Avalanche (-110) at Tampa Bay Lightning (-110)
Pick: Bet $10 Colorado
Notes: I love it when the sports books really are afraid of something.
And this Stanley Cup series has them worried for sure.
The line is once again a 50/50 game as it was in game 3.
That’s even after the Lightning put a beatdown on the Avs down in Florida.
But I don’t want to overreact here.
Yes, I have been touting Tampa’s remarkable run the past few weeks and secretly I am rooting for them to win their 3rd in a row.
And yes, Tampa is 41-15 in their previous 56 home games.
But the reality is that I need to play the probability and it’s telling me that Colorado is the play at this line.
So a $10 bet on the Avalanche.
MLB
COL (176) at MIA (-210)
Pick: Bet $10 COL
Notes: Well, I bet on one Colorado team already today so I might as well make it two.
The Rockies duked it out with the Marlins yesterday and came up short but I think they have a chance to get one today.
Pablo Lopez will get the start for Miami and there’s no arguing how good he has been this season.
He’s got a 2.85 ERA and 1.07 WHIP.
But his record is only 4-3 and his last 3 starts have not been very good.
After going 6-1 over his first 7 starts, Miami is just 2-5 over his last 7.
Chad Kuhl has been decent enough as a starter this year.
And while Colorado has not been a good road team, he’s given them enough quality starts on the road this season that I think there’s some value in backing him today.
$10 bet on the Rockies.
LAD (-184) at CIN (154)
Pick: Bet $10 LAD
Notes: I spoke about an 8-0 starter for the Dodgers yesterday and now I’ll do the same today.
Tyler Anderson is 8-0 with a 2.82 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP.
He will take on Luis Castillo – who has pitched pretty well this year but the Reds have managed to lose in his last 3 starts.
The Dodgers’ offense was popping yesterday and when it does, it’s hard to see Cincy keeping pace.
I’m double dipping today.
$10 bet on LA.
