Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 6/9/22

Sports Bet Picks for 6/9/22

NHL

Tampa Bay Lightning (-130) at New York Rangers (108)

Pick: Bet $10 New York

Notes: After 4 games, the Avalanche dispatched the Oilers.

After 4 games in this series, we’re tied up 2-2.

And the way things have gone, Colorado might be sitting around awhile waiting for someone to emerge as the winner here.

Seems like home ice could the key here and lucky for the Rangers, they have it.

They also, once again, are getting a plus line – despite being the overall better team in this series.

Sure, game 4 was all Tampa.

But the rest of the series has been New York.

Take away a few blips in game 3, and the Rangers should be on the verge of meeting Colorado soon.

I can’t take away anything from the Lightning, though.

These guys are tough and won’t just fizzle.

Like the Flames, Panthers and Oilers did.

Still, hard not to bet on the Rangers here.

At home, with a plus line and in a spot where Shesterkin needs to bounce back is a good spot to bet on them.

$10 bet the Rangers.

MLB

STL (158) at TB (-188)

Pick: Bet $10 TB

Notes: Miles Mikolas has come down to Earth the past few games.

Still, he’s looked more like his former ace-self this season than he did last season.

He will need to be on the top of his game as he duels with Shane McClanahan.

McClanahan is 6-2 with a 2.10 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP.

Over his last 4 starts – all home games – he’s pitched a combined 25 innings with 31 strikeouts and only 4 earned runs.

Not too bad.

And he’s probably the reason this line has gotten so worse for Rays.

In fact, it’s technically outside of my chalk threshold based on implied probability here but if is squint really, really hard I think I can do it.

$10 bet on the Rays.

PIT (220) at ATL (-270)

Pick: Bet $10 PIT

Notes: Now to balance out a chalky bet with a lottery ticket.

The Pirates just lost two in a row to the lowly Tigers and now they head to Atlanta for a 4-game series with the Braves.

Atlanta has won 7 in a row and now sit only 7 games back of the Mets in the NL East.

Atlanta will put ace Max Fried on the mound.

Fried is 5-2 with a 2.74 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP.

The Pirates will counter with 0-5 JT Brubaker.

Brubaker was knocked out in the 4th inning in his last start against the D-Backs after giving up 3 homers and 5 earned runs.

The Braves win streak has been against much lesser competition and while the Pirates fit that category, they also cross over into the Venn diagram of “teams that somehow win games and make gamblers go crazy.”

I like the plus line on them today and while I think the Braves should win, the probability just isn’t there for me.

$10 bet on Pittsburgh.

Pick: Lean NYY
