Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 7/23/22

Sports Bet Picks for 7/23/22

HOU (-146) at SEA (124)

Pick: Bet $10 HOU

Notes: Justin Verlander will try to increase his MLB-leading win total today as he faces off against the Mariners’ ace – Logan Gilbert.

Verlander is having a sensational year – bouncing back from his injury while posting a 1.89 ERA and 0.88 WHIP.

Gilbert is also having a very good year but nothing in comparison to Verlander.

Houston managed to grab the win over Seattle yesterday – breaking the Mariners’ winning streak.

It was inevitable and seeing that Seattle feasted upon some lesser teams, it was also inevitable that a team like Houston would be the one to do it.

These teams have matched up well against each other this season.

The win by the Astros yesterday gave them the 7-6 season series lead.

With Verlander on the mound, I think they extend that by another game today.

$10 bet on Houston.

MIN (-176) at DET (148)

Pick: Bet $10 MIN

Notes: The Twins are the 5th best road hitting team on the season as it comes to batting average.

Detroit is at the bottom 10 of the league when it comes to ERA.

So is it time for the Twins to bust out offensively?

Maybe they can take a cue from the road-struggling Blue Jays and put up a football score.

Leading the way is the league leader in batting average Luis Arraez.

For Detroit, their batting average leader is 39-year-old Miguel Cabrera.

Looking at starters today, the Twins have the definitive edge here.

Joe Ryan is having himself a very good season while Michael Pineda has struggled – giving up 8 earned runs in 2 innings pitched his last time out.

This line is a bit chalkier than I would like for the Twins but I still think they win enough times to warrant a bet for me.

$10 bet on Minnesota.
