Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 7/25/22
TB (-130) at BAL (110)
Pick: Bet $10 BAL
Notes: The Orioles find themselves under .500 again and in last place in the AL East.
But the good news is they are close to leapfrogging the fading Boston Red Sox.
As hot as Baltimore was before the break, the reality is that they will be sellers leading up to the trade deadline.
Anthony Santander is rumored to go to AL East rival New York while Trey Mancini is rumored to go across the town from their AL East rival New York.
Before this team gets gutted, there should be some wins that happen.
Today could be one of those days.
The Orioles have played the Rays tough all year with Tampa only leading the season series 7-5.
Tampa just lost 2 of 3 to the Royals – dropping their road record to 21-25.
Baltimore happens to be 26-19 at home this season with a top 10 team ERA when pitching at home.
Their pitching does not travel on the road as that ERA drops almost a full point.
Austin Voth fits that same trend with his time in Baltimore.
After being acquired from the Nationals, Voth has been a hybrid pitcher – starter, opener and innings eater.
And yeah, he pitches better at home than on the road.
That said, his last time out, he pitched 2 solid innings on the road against the Rays.
Rays’ starter Corey Kluber has been hittable this season and before the bats leave town, I think Baltimore can get to him today.
$10 bet on the Orioles.
COL (165) at MIL (-195)
Pick: Bet $10 COL
Notes: The Brewers have beaten the Rockies the past 3 days.
Can they complete the 4-game sweep?
I’m banking on no.
Two of the three games were 1-run games and today the Brewers put Aaron Ashby on the mound.
Ashby looks to be a part of the Brewers’ future – after they signed him to a 5-year deal.
But the 24-year-old has had some control issues in his two seasons as a starter and reliever for the Brewers.
If he can reduce his walks then perhaps he could be one of the Brewers’ top guys.
For now, he’s not – which puts value on the Rockies today to final sneak out a win.
$10 bet on Colorado.
