Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 7/29/21
MLB
NYY (-130) at TB (120)
Pitchers: G. Cole (ERA: 2.75 – Road ERA: 2.77 – Avg. ML: -176) vs. L. Patino (ERA: 6.46 – Home ERA: 1.45 – Avg. ML: -102)
Pick: Bet $10 TB
Notes: The Yankees seemingly are not waiving the white flag on the season and they have their ace on the mound today. The problem is their ace has been hittable in 3 of his last 5 starts. He’s still damn good, but now you aren’t getting those super juiced lines on him anymore.
Luis Patino is on the mound and while he has not had a very good season so far, his home ERA hovers around 1 – so he’s definitely doing better in Tampa.
The Yankees have grabbed the first two games in this series and with Cole on the mound they have a chance to pull off a sweep. I just don’t think that happens today.
$10 bet on the Rays.
CIN (-123) at CHC (114)
Pitchers: L. Castillo (ERA: 4.39 – Road ERA: 4.82 – Avg. ML: -105) vs. A. Mills (ERA: 3.7 – Home ERA: 2.96 – Avg. ML: 109)
Pick: Bet $10 CIN
Notes: The Reds understood their glaring weakness and made some trades to address it. Now they continue their series with the Cubs – who we are all waiting for to make their moves. Through 2 games, the Reds’ offense has been way too much for Chicago and Castillo has been very good over his last 5 outings. So this looks like a sweep today.
Alec Mills has pitched better at home this year and its hard to imagine the Cubs losing 3 straight at Wrigley. But it will happen today.
$10 bet on the Reds.
MIL (-184) at PIT (168)
Pitchers: F. Peralta (ERA: 2.36 – Road ERA: 2.91 – Avg. ML: -131) vs. C. Kuhl (ERA: 4.46 – Home ERA: 2.4 – Avg. ML: 161)
Pick: Bet $10 MIL
Notes: Time to eat some chalk. The Pirates are a pesky fucking team and you do sweat when you bet against them. But Milwaukee has dominated them thus far in the series and with Peralta on the mound it looks like another sweep.
The Brewers lead the season series 9-3 and two of those wins happened early in the season when Milwaukee was figuring stuff out. In the 12 games, the Brewers have outscored the pirates by a combined 39 runs – or 3.25 runs per game. Dare I say runline?
I won’t do it but it could be done.
$10 bet on the Brewers.

Pick: TBD

Pick: Lean NYM
