Notes: The Pirates have lost 4 games in a row by a total of 5 runs.
This includes an 8-7 loss to the Phillies last night.
So I give them a shot at winning today.
Especially with Bailey Falter on the mound today for Philly.
Falter is 0-3 with a 5.18 ERA.
The Pirates will counter with Jose Quintana who is coming off a stellar last start.
Quintana has been lit up a few times this year but overall has been quite dependable.
I’m losing value but still seems that the value is on Pittsburgh here.

Notes: If you missed it, Oakland just swept the Astros and have now won 4 out of 5.
Chicago lost on Wednesday – dropping them back down to .500.
The White Sox still have a chance to win the Central and you would have to think they are buyers before the deadline.
Starting pitching should be a focus – unless they can trade for a new manager.
Maybe Joe Maddon would come back to Chicago.
That’d be fun.
Anyway, pitching, yes.
The White Sox have had some issues there.
And Lance Lynn has been a part of those issues.
James Kaprielian hasn’t been stellar but he’s been better than Lynn.
So I think with him starting, the way the A’s have played lately and Chicago’s inconsistent play all year, the value is on Oakland today.

Notes: Speaking of Houston, the Astros bounced back from their sweep in Oakland by beating Seattle yesterday.
Today they put their ace on the mound as 13-3, Cy Young contender Justin Verlander takes on previous Cy Young winner Robbie Ray.
Ray is having a decent season but not the quality we saw last season in Toronto.
These two teams met just last weekend and the Astros swept Seattle.
I think more of the same this weekend.
