Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 8/1/22

Sports Bet Picks for 8/1/22

MLB

ARI (132) at CLE (-156)

Pick: Bet $10 CLE

Notes: The AL Central is really heating up.

The Tigers are only 13 games back and the Royals only 13.5 games back of the Twins.

Not bad.

But in all seriousness, the Guardians and White Sox are right behind Minnesota and every win matters.

Cleveland took 2 of 3 from the Rays and now come home for the first time in the second half of the season.

Cleveland is 25-19 at Progressive Field this season while the D-Backs has struggled away from Arizona this year.

The Diamondbacks are just 18-29 on the road – good for the 6th worst road record in the league.

The Guardians will put Cal Quantrill on the mound today as he looks to rebound from a shitty start against the Red Sox.

He faces off against Zach Davies who is returning from the IL.

Davies had a great June before missing the past month with a shoulder injury.

Davies will probably be on a bit of a pitch count and Quantrill has been decent enough this year that I believe the Guardians grab the win in this one.

$10 bet on Cleveland.

BOS (164) at HOU (-196)

Pick: Bet $10 HOU

Notes: Boston avoided the sweep at the hands of the Brewers yesterday but despite that, they still find themselves in last place in the AL East.

That’s right – behind the fucking Orioles.

So the next few days before the trade deadline should be a fun one.

Houston just took 3 of 4 from the Mariners – extending that AL West lead to 12 games out there.

Seattle is still eyeing up a playoff run as they made a deal for Luis Castillo.

So don’t expect the Astros to take their foot off the pedal.

Luis Garcia has had an up and down season thus far and since his last outing was down, I am hoping this one is up.

Nathan Eovaldi has given up 16 earned runs over his last 3 starts.

He was the pitcher of record for that 28-5 destruction by the Blue Jays.

Can’t imagine what the Astros will do to him today.

$10 bet on Houston.
