Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 8/26/21

Sports Bet Picks for 8/26/21

CWS (-104) at TOR (-104)

Pitchers: C. Rodon (ERA: 2.28 – Road ERA: 2.01 – Avg. ML: -139) vs. H. Ryu (ERA: 3.63 – Home ERA: 3.88 – Avg. ML: -140)

Pick: Bet $10 CWS

Notes: The White Sox have not had a good week. After losing to the Rays over the weekend, they have started this week by losing 2 of 3 to the Blue Jays. Now they have to face off against Hyun Jin Ryu as he’s coming off one of his best starts of the season.

The White Sox will put one of their aces on the mound as Carlos Rodon returns after dealing with a sore shoulder. Chicago continues to be fortunate that the AL Central is shitty. If not, then they could be fighting for a playoff spot with their underwhelming play.

I do think they pull out the win today. Or at least they should.

$10 bet on the White Sox.

TEX (154) at CLE (-168)

Pitchers: J. Lyles (ERA: 5.54 – Road ERA: 5.49 – Avg. ML: 157) vs. S. Hentges (ERA: 8.53 – Home ERA: 7.45 – Avg. ML: 124)

Pick: Bet $10 TEX

Notes: Maybe Texas got their win in this series already but I kind of like them on a flyer today. Sam Hentges has been very hittable. His WHIP is 1.96 and his ERA is hovering around 8. Even though he’s just really an opener, it should give Texas the chance to jump out to an early lead.

Jordan Lyles has not had a very good season either but he is coming off a dominating performance against a hard-hitting Boston team. So maybe he can hang with this Cleveland … offense? Not sure if you can call it an offense. It ranks 24th in batting average, 27th in on base percentage, and 20th in runs scored.

Granted, that ranks higher than Texas in all categories as well. So maybe the over isn’t a slam dunk today even with such horrible pitching.

Anyway, I already said what my play was and then spent a minute trying to justify it to myself. So $10 bet on the Rangers.

LAA (-126) at BAL (117)

Pitchers: J. Barria (ERA: 4.83 – Road ERA: 6 – Avg. ML: 149) vs. K. Akin (ERA: 9.1 – Home ERA: 7.41 – Avg. ML: 163)

Pick: Lean BAL

CIN (102) at MIL (-111)

Pitchers: S. Gray (ERA: 4.33 – Road ERA: 3.53 – Avg. ML: -109) vs. B. Anderson (ERA: 4.56 – Home ERA: 3.56 – Avg. ML: -108)

Pick: Lean MIL

STL (-156) at PIT (143)

Pitchers: M. Mikolas (ERA: 1 – Road ERA: 0 – Avg. ML: -131) vs. M. Keller (ERA: 6.53 – Home ERA: 8.11 – Avg. ML: 151)

Pick: Lean STL

ARI (140) at PHI (-153)

Pitchers: Z. Gallen (ERA: 4.73 – Road ERA: 4.76 – Avg. ML: 141) vs. Z. Eflin (ERA: 4.25 – Home ERA: 3.05 – Avg. ML: 108)

Pick: Lean PHI

SF (-124) at NYM (114)

Pitchers: A. Wood (ERA: 4.23 – Road ERA: 4.3 – Avg. ML: -121) vs. C. Carrasco (ERA: 8.94 – Home ERA: 14.14 – Avg. ML: 119)

Pick: Lean SF

WSH (105) at MIA (-114)

Pitchers: P. Corbin (ERA: 5.94 – Road ERA: 5.96 – Avg. ML: 117) vs. E. Hernandez (ERA: 4.39 – Home ERA: 3.75 – Avg. ML: 111)

Pick: Lean WSH

MIN (245) at BOS (-275)

Pitchers: J. Gant (ERA: 4.19 – Road ERA: 3.82 – Avg. ML: 119) vs. C. Sale (ERA: 1.8 – Home ERA: 1.8 – Avg. ML: -273)

Pick: Lean BOS

LAD (-138) at SD (127)

Pitchers: M. Scherzer (ERA: 2.69 – Road ERA: 3.07 – Avg. ML: -123) vs. Y. Darvish (ERA: 3.8 – Home ERA: 3.16 – Avg. ML: -165)

Pick: Lean SD

NYY (-109) at OAK (101)

Pitchers: J. Taillon (ERA: 4.09 – Road ERA: 4.86 – Avg. ML: -129) vs. J. Kaprielian (ERA: 3.32 – Home ERA: 1.47 – Avg. ML: -122)

Pick: Lean OAK

KC (149) at SEA (-163)

Pitchers: B. Keller (ERA: 5.66 – Road ERA: 5.2 – Avg. ML: 129) vs. Y. Kikuchi (ERA: 4.22 – Home ERA: 4.7 – Avg. ML: 120)

Pick: Lean SEA
