Sports Bet Picks for 9/30/22

MLB Bets

CIN (122) at CHC (-144)

Pick: Bet $10 CIN

Notes: The MLB schedulers must have figured these two teams would not play a role in the playoffs because they kick off a 6-game series starting today.

The Cubs are fresh off a sweep of the Phillies – dealing them another serious blow to their playoff hopes.

The Reds are fresh off of fucking us over of some money while being swept by the Pirates.

The Reds almost gave us hope of being the worst team in baseball history.

Unfortunately, they started to win some games and ruined that dream for us.

Still, they are in a dogfight for the NL Central basement against the aforementioned Pirates.

Cincinnati will put Graham Ashcraft on the mound against Adrian Sampson.

Sampson has been the better pitcher and his September has been unbelievable.

But I think he, and the Cubs, have been playing a bit above their heads.

I just can’t foresee them winning 5 games in a row.

Or, you know, 10 in a row.

The Reds will beat them a few times over the next week and I think today is one of them.

$10 bet on Cincinnati.

MIN (-148) at DET (126)

Pick: Bet $10 DET

Notes: The Tigers have won 6 games in a row and welcome to town a Twins team that looked like they could have been a playoff team at one point this season.

It was fools gold, of course, as they had nine 3-game losing streaks in the second half of the season.

Joe Ryan was part of that issue.

He was really good earlier in the season and faded down the stretch.

His September has been a bit better but he’s still capable of giving up runs in bunches.

Tyler Alexander has had an up and down season too.

He’s bounced between starter and reliever and oscillated between good and bad.

Hoping he has one more good outing in him this season.

$10 bet on Detroit.
