Max’s Sports Bet Picks for 9/6/21
MLB
PHI (123) at MIL (-133)
Pitchers: Z. Wheeler (ERA: 3.06 – Road ERA: 3.92 – Avg. ML: -123) vs. B. Woodruff (ERA: 2.38 – Home ERA: 2.09 – Avg. ML: -134)
Pick: Bet $10 PHI
Notes: The Brewers managed to win out the rest of their series after dropping the first game to the Cardinals. Now they welcome in a Philly’s team that has underwhelmed on the road this year and barely took one game from the Marlins this past weekend. Philly has won the 4 games these two teams played earlier this year and in the last one they played in May, it was the same pitching matchup as today.
Near Elite Zach Wheeler pitched a gem in that one and outdueled Cy Young candidate Brandon Woodruff. Wheeler has had a bad last month – giving up 4 or more runs in 5 of his 6 starts. Woodruff didn’t pitch like he did in the first few months of the season but he’s still managed to be damn good.
I don’t really trust Philly on the road but I do think they steal one of these games in the series. I am banking on it being this one with their best pitcher on the mound.
$10 bet on Philadelphia.
SF (-161) at COL (148)
Pitchers: K. Gausman (ERA: 2.54 – Road ERA: 1.81 – Avg. ML: -120) vs. K. Freeland (ERA: 4.24 – Home ERA: 4.48 – Avg. ML: 147)
Pick: Bet $10 COL
Notes: Well, I am faced with the Rockies at home with a big plus line again. The Rockies continue some solid home play – splitting a 4 game set against the NL East leading Braves. The Giants just had a good series against the Dodgers that kept them a game ahead in the NL West.
The Giants definitely have the pitching match-up today with Gausman on the mound. His ERA drops to 1.81 on the road this season while Kyle Freeland left his previous start with a hip injury.
Still, the home plus line for the Rockies is too much for me to resist. $10 bet on Colorado.
SEA (179) at HOU (-197)
Pitchers: Y. Kikuchi (ERA: 4.12 – Road ERA: 3.82 – Avg. ML: 120) vs. L. McCullers Jr. (ERA: 3.27 – Home ERA: 3.91 – Avg. ML: -144)
Pick: Bet $10 SEA
Notes: The Astros have lost 4 of 5 games and two of those were against the Mariners. Granted, those games were in Seattle and their recent losses have been on the road. But it has to be concerning as the Astros try to close this season out and make a World Series run.
They find themselves only 4.5 games up on the Mariners in the AL West so this series is pretty important. Seattle has played Houston pretty tough all year. Lance McCullers Jr. is having a fine season and is coming off a solid start where he blanked the Mariners last week through 5 innings. But Seattle still won the game 4-0 and had better pitching on their side as Kikuchi went 7 innings and gave up no runs.
I like Kikuchi and the Mariners again today. I know its on the road where they are barely over .500. But still, this is a team that has been a thorn in the Astros’ side all year. And they should steal at least one this week.
$10 bet on Seattle.

Pick: Lean NYM
